This is not the right way of doing this! Your co-host on mobile won't be able hear you! You must setup something, that's called mix minus and feed this signal into phone. You'll connect mixer's AUX send to the phone. It's important to have AUX level on channel where you have connected sound from phone all the way down, otherwise your co-host will hear feedback of yourself.

This is when the TRRS Audio splitter comes in. The Main Output goes into the RED MIC 3.5mm jack and the Green 3.5mm jack pushes the Phone Output (headphone) signal to a designated channel on the mixer

Hey guys, thanks for your video. I realize this was uploaded 7 yrs ago, so how can I connect my iPhone 11 since it doesn't have an audio jack anymore (Bluetooth only). Is there a way to attach the phone to a Bluetooth device and then connect that to the mixing board?

+Frank Miller sorry about that Frank! iPhone connector is standard 3.5mm audio jack. This particular cable which splits into 2 mono jack connectors. Be sure to send us a photo of your setup once complete!

Great video! But the call in quality seems poor. That is fine for a live radio show, but I will be producing a podcast and would like to get very high quality audio from the person calling in. Any suggestions?

Chaps... If we use an iPhone to host a live call on the same setup as yours, would the audio from my side be picked up through my condenser mic, through the desk, and through to the phone 3.5mm, or would it go through the phone mic? I see a lot of videos that recommend podcasters ask their guest to record their side (which would feel quite unprofessional to me). If it won't use my XLR-connected mic, is there a way that this can work?

The setup shown here wouldn't work for what you want, which is speaking to callers through your mic audio. You'd need a mix minus setup, something we've covered here: radio.co/blog/take-live-calls-with-mix-minus

Not with a USB mic as the Behringer Xenyx 802 only takes in XLR connections along with most broadcasting desks. It's best to get a good condenser microphone like the ones mentioned here: radio.co/blog/best-microphones-for-online-radio/

quick question when I plug a phone to play music sounds crappy or even just mono... the only way I can play music on my broadcast is having the music inside my pc the one that is broadcasting... how can I plug an ipod to the mixer and get good stereo sound out to the broadcast? Thanks!

The audio quality entirely depends on your phone, cable, and mixer. Alternatively, you can use a mixer with an SD card slot to play your music like we've done here: radio.co/blog/presonus-studiolive-ar8-usb-mixer-review

It is so amazing how so many people do not know how to make a how to video. I mean sure this one was better than most of the ones online, but they still dont do it right. I mean they just gave a general thing about ok this is what we use and they showed some connections but they did not show all the connections and they did not explain the details. But hey they had a banjo playing in the background then. I have come to the conclusion that lots of companies don't use there own stuff becuase if they did they would know what they are getting wrong, I mean the people who come up with these type of videos never have common sense to know what they should go over in a how to video, they just waste time and go over a bunch of unecessary things and they do not go into detail and things like that.

The Behringer Xenyx 802 mixing desk requires XLR inputs, not USB inputs like your microphones use. all good and well but no guidance on what leads to use where to get them on two clips of the Behringer the jack plugs wherein different jack points????. but nothing in the video showing which lead goes where as you have kept them out of view

There's a few ways you can do it, take the setup in the video for example you could use Skype on your phone to invite multiple people into a group chat, then broadcast that audio through a single channel. If you have anymore questions then feel free to email a radio expert at studio@radio.co.

Like I mentioned, use Skype to connect to two or more callers. There's apps out there that can most likely do this.

I'm looking to find a solution to my problem. We want to take live callers that will be able to still listen on hold or while muted (very important). We may have up to 15 callers listening live at one time, and would like the ability to choose who we bring on live at any specific time

A mixer, like the one shown in the video, is capable of taking live callers. However if you want a large number of callers then you need a software management system. Try software like Skype that can have group calls or another that allows you to put several callers on hold. Talk with one of our radio experts today by heading over to studio@radio.co.

Radio.co Skype callers can't hear the show while muted (big problem), google hangouts doesn't allow you to mute callers (big problem). Blog talk radio has what we want, but it's expensive and they "own" your show when you sign up with them, and the quality is poor. Callinstudio.com has what we need, but it's expensive

the problem is with Skype you cannot in the newest latest version of Skype with Windows 10 just letting you guys know you cannot turn off the papa papa papa papa papa papa ringtone you cannot turn it off it is insane it is crazy it is absurd but you cannot turn off Skype ringer on the latest version of Skype if you do know how to do it kindly let me know cuz it will be greatly appreciated I was not able to turn off the ringtone and put Skype on silent mode thanks God bless

and just so you know I have all the latest stuff the latest Skype Windows 10 the latest latest latest everything the latest and Skype is not working right if he if you have Windows 10 or the latest software and everything whether it's Windows or Mac the latest latest latest please let me know how this thing works it is insane that Skype does not and cannot turn off the ringer

hello, I can't seem to record my caller. I can hear my voice and see the audactiy recording me, but not my caller. I followed the set up on how to set up to take a live call, but I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I am using the Behringer 802, I have my mic plugged into the mic channel, I have my phone plugged in to the L/R channel 3/4 and I have the other cable that goes to my computer plugged into the 4th L/R channel 5/6 and last I have my head phones plugged into the mixer where it says PHONES. What am I doing wrong. Are there certain buttons I need to press. Is there something I need to set up on my computer, Please advise. Thank you in advance

You want to select your mixer's master output to record both ends of the conversation in Audacity. There is a mic symbol with a drop-down menu in Audacity - select your mixer and it should record you and your caller. If that doesn't work, there are a few different things you can do to get it going. In which case, contact our team so they can talk you through it at studio@radio.co.
