Hi there, I'm trying to set up family safety for my sister, i've gotten everything "connected", but when i log her in on her pc, it doesn't seem like it has connected even though it shows on the microsoft family safety website that it is. for example, i have instagram blocked on the microsoft family safety website but when i try to go to the website on her computer, it is not blocked.

Check a couple things. 1. That you are logged into Windows with the Microsoft account you have setup for her. 2. That you are logged into the Edge browser with he same account. 3. Validate the right domain is added to the blocked sites section in Family Safety.

It has to be a Microsoft account. However you can create Microsoft accounts with other domains. For instance I have a Microsoft account with a Gmail.com address. If it's the account you login to the computer with and you can make it part of your family group, it can be managed.

@@StephenHelwigTalksTech Yes; have my Microsoft account as the admin on both laptops and have him in the family. He shows up in the Family and other users as a child on the laptop and is allowed to sign on with his microsoft account. Have tried pretty much every trick I've found online; changing the account to a local and back to microsoft, using the verify steps to verify the account on the laptop, removing from family and re-inviting. Nothing brings the devices in to Family Safety. Honestly gave up and just went with a paid application instead.

@StephenHelwigTalksTech
@StephenHelwigTalksTech Год назад
I'm not sure. The easiest way is to probably block the installation of the game on the PC. To block the servers you need to block the traffic using either the in built Windows firewall or an external device on your network. However, since I think anyone can create a Minecraft server and attach it to any domain they own, this would be difficult.

The only thing I can tell you is that you need to make sure you log into the computer with your Microsoft account and that needs to be setup as a Parent/Guardian in Microsoft Family. If your kids computer was setup previously with a local account, you'll need to add it in the Users section of the computer.
