Great instructions. I used it to setup my device. Some things to note for folks. The base unit beeps for 3-5 seconds after you press the CLOSE button then it will shut the garage door. There are other videos that show you how to remove a piece of the speaker inside the base unit (after you remove this piece it will probably voids the warranty). The beeping does not occur when you press open. It apparently takes about 5-10 seconds after the door closes before the myQ app identifies the garage door as closed. For Tesla owners, Tesla has partnered with Amazon (myQ) to allow you to use the myQ to be opened from your Tesla; unfortunately, its a subscription based method to use this feature after a 30 day trial. Once again, very helpful video!
Your video is so well done that Liftmaster should license it from you! Thank you so much! I followed your instructions and it worked like a charm. Thanks again
Thank you for a complete video, start to finish about installing the myQ Chamberlain Smart Garage Control. I just realized that the cell phone based controller uses the same RF signal that that my existing hand held controller that I carry in the car uses. I thought there would be a hard wired connection to the controller itself, so it appears easy to install. Thank you for heloing my confidence to purchase one of these devices. Jdm
The three buttons on the front do not provide any manual access, I take it - they're only to link it to a door sensor and do not provide manual open/close capability?
Do you have a video on how to program it? I have it installed but I can’t program it to close at a determined time. I mean I programmed it, but the program doesn’t run.
Yes the base unit can control 2 doors. You just have to purchase a tilt sensor for the other door. I just purchased mine. The base unit kit with 1 tilt sensor was $25. An extra tilt sensor was $26. So I purchased a second kit. I will save the extra base unit incase the first one fails.
I’m having issues on the pairing step. I click the learn button and on the app it just says pairing but it never gets it. It’s a Craftsman motor, and the button is a faded red/orange square
Great instructional followed step by step and made installation a breeze. Even though I had a different brand motor the instructions are exactly the same. Thanks again for the help!
My q is how do you keep the sensor on the door in the summer. It also heats up so bad we have lost one to the heat and the velcro adhesive gave way when it was up and the fell. We love this thing. Its the heat that is the problem. If anyone has an idea on swnsor placement please let me know!! ;) thanks for the vid!
This is a tilt sensor so it just needs to stay in line with the top panel of your door. So you could glue a chunk of foam insulation to the door. Then connect the sensor to the foam insulation.
What’s the point of this? I have garage door openers in each of my vehicles is it just so i can have it work through a app on the phone? Wouldn’t this just create another way for someone to access (break in) to the garage?
This a remote open and closer. Say you forgot to close the garage when you went to the store or work. You can use the app to close or open the door. The app will warn you the door is open.
I have a habit of leaving the garage open. I set this to inform me if the garage is open at 9pm at night. Then I can close it without getting out of bed. Especially if that bed is in another state.
