I really enjoy your class. So much easier to understand and better than the actual Shopify courses by shopify. Can you do a video explain how to set up shop locations in different countries? Eg, physical shop location in one country that sells directly to customers and another location that sells online via 3PL warehouse in another country? Is that possible to set up? And Setting different tax collection etc for different location using one Shopify account?

Hi Tammy. So if you have a country lets say where you want to use the specific 3PL Inventory to that country ONLY, then two options: #1, get Shopify Plus and pay $2k a month or #2, setup a second Shopify account with a basic plan. If you have this business model, two shopify accounts is not going to break the bank.

From my understanding if we’re using USPS shipping supplies we should use their calculated shipping rates? But if we have our own custom shipping packages we can adjust the shipping cost to whatever we like? But what if we use both?

If you have international obligations to collect taxes for international countries, make sure you add locations in the settings as well as Shipping rates if applicable. Then you should be able to go to the settings and add to collect taxes in those countries as long as youre registered to collect taxes.

If you mix manual shipping cost with Carrier, I dont believe there is a way to manipulate the order sequence on how it shows.

Only I have a good question of the limit time shipping you add 3 business days shipping to the United States and we know all Ali express shipping around 30 days. Could you please explain that? do you use Oberlo? please explain thank you again.

Just make sure that on your shipping you put that it takes 30 days. Remember you can choose other vendors who expedite faster for a higher cost. Give your customer multiple shipping options. Your vendor must also provide other shipping methods that are faster.

Any supplier or even product that I looked on Aliexpress has min of 30 days and shipping for 2 weeks is over $20...how could I offer to a customer something like that. One more thing, when I want to add the domestic rate (use a carrier rate), it doesn´t show me. I´m in Germany domestic rate and I set everything based on that.

Hi, am from Australia and our postal service have just started with flat rate (set rate) boxes. With this, if you have 1 item or more items, if they all fit in the box, you only pay that flat rate ($8) anywhere in Australia. We sell succulents, pots and accessories for doing succulents. I want to have the flat rate postage for when we post out succulents (have made a category for succulents under plants) How can I setup shipping so if a customer buys 2 or more plants, the shipping they pay stays just $8 - the setup now is each plant is $8 per item, so if a customer buys 3 x plants, the total postage will be $24 Thanks, Sean

You set this pricing as weight. 0 to 1 lbs = $8. 1.1 lbs to 2 lbs = $16, etc.

So with what you have above with the pricing as weight, with 0 to 1 lbs = $8 postage, if I set the weight of each succulent to 4 oz, max 4 x succulents to fit in the box and the total postage is $8, then with a 5th succulent and over, will be another $8

Printful and Printify I am using their calculated rates, and SPOD customized.. But it is NOT working.. I tried to contact Shopify and they tried but it is not working still.. Is this the same process to droppshipping through AliExpress vía oberlo, I’m talking about if we need to put an adress or to choose oberlo rates by default and edit the shipping through oberlo?

You cannot sync Oberlo rates to your client due to multiple vendors on that platform. Instead I recommend you to bake the cost of shipping inside your product retail price and offer free shipping. That way it doesnt get complicated for you. Let me know if that helps.

Hi Bigarabrami. 1 - This depends where in the world youre selling. Here in the states, you can start with your personal information but its advised that you create an LLC so you can collect and report taxes as a business. 2 and 3 - This part is sensitive as its best if you consult with your local CPA since regulations vary depending on what youre selling and where your business is registered.

It would be good to know how you would set-up when in another country and more importantly how to set up shipping when the product is being supplied from China and that you would not know what the shipping is until you place the order with the manufacture which is after the order you receive?

If youre doing Ali Express, its important for you to bake the shipping cost into the product price and perform Free Shipping. Then when it comes to figuring out the shipping cost, try to purchase the product but dont actually purchase it. Go to the last page of purchase to see what that Shipping cost is going to be. Then bake the price into the cost of good.

You have to create your Shipping Zones first. If you dont have a Zone, then they wont appear.

When i also clicked " Use carrier or app to calculate rates" what I got is an error message There are no carriers or apps available in the zone. Can you help me with this pls i am using Spocket as my third party supplier. Thank you

See if Spocket can be added as a app in the zone to match your current Shipping Zone.

More specifically. Go to Settings > Click on Shipping and Local Delivery > (Make sure you followed my tutorial in making a Shipping Zone in the US) > Then above the US Shipping zone it says "Shipping From" and all the way to the right youll see like a dropdown link called "Show Details" > Click on Manage on all apps you see here one by one > Then select it to match your current Shipping Zone. Press Save. This should solve the issue. If people still have problem Ill create a new video since this is a brand new feature that was just recently added into the Shopify Shipping Complications.

Thank you for your video! I have a question (maybe dumb). When I select free shipping I'm paying for that, right? Let's see that I'm putting the price shipping (whatever the shipping for the free shipping cost) in the product price. How I know exactly how much the shipping will cost? So I don't lose money with the free shipping and not change the product price any time because the shipping was more than I expected. I dont have a really good English, sorry for my errors. First. Go to Settings and make sure you add a location. Make sure this location is also setup in Shipping. Then lastly go to taxes, click on USA and youll see the zip code of your location. Make sure its only one zip code. Hope this helped.

had a quick question. We have multiple box sizes, and what if they add two products and put in the same box? can you assign a product to a specific box size? or does box size even matter?

This depends on who your shipping carrier is. Lets say its UPS. They the calculator is based on weight of the box. Make sure the products have weight value so that when Shipping auto calculates the cost, its based on weight of the box. Hope this helps.

Take the cost of the product which Oberlo is selling it to you, then add the shipping cost which Oberlo is charging you to ship it to your client. Then add your profit margin all baked into the final price of the item. Then offer Free shipping.

@@RochelleLaTriceMusic Yes if you place your home address and lets say you're doing labels with Shopify, then your home address will show. Also if you used the Privacy policy template which is auto generated, then it will use your home address. Which is why I advise the PO box.

My tax screen does not look like yours. It does not have municipalities, county, etc. and that's what I need! It is collecting city tax and I don't have to collect city...only state and county. However, it does not give me those options as it does on yours...why would that be?

Go to Settings > Taxes. In the Tax regions section, beside United States, click Set up. In the Tax registrations section, click Add tax registration. Select a state in which you are registered. In Sales tax ID, enter your account number. Click Add tax registration. (Optional) Add more regions and account numbers by clicking Add tax registration

Im so confused as to why we have to do shipping on shopify for an item if aliexpress has their own ways of shipping. is this only for if you are handling the item and not drop shipping? Btw amazing video !

Yes thats correct. As you know Shopify is a full ecommerce solution. Dropshipping is one of many business models Shopify supports.

If youre doing Ali Express, you can use your address because technically youre not shipping the products, they are. If youre doing the fulfillment, then you should invest in a PO box.

Hi Abdul. If you use Ali Express you can see how long it takes your manufacturer to ship the products. In this video I show you how much to charge your clients for Shipping. So depending on your supplier, you can set this up here. Hope this helps

I'm watching all these videos about shopify and no one has yet answered the question clearly about when you get to the tax part it asks for your ID. do i need to register with my state before selling or what? what ID are they referring to?

You technically dont need to register with your state to start selling. However, its strongly recommended that you do because Shopify will report it and you dont want to be in trouble when it comes to taxes. So I advise you to register your business with the IRS and State to report sales taxes. Once you register with your state, you will receive that code.

Convert the oz to lb but I dont think the setting will go down that far. Its best you create a condition based on price.

No. Get a PO Box address and use the local post office. This is important in case you get products returned.

This part just put your address since it wont matter. The location allows you to charge taxes in the state you reside. When it comes to shipping, you simply program fixed rates or flat rates in the Shipping settings. You cannot use USPS calculated shipping.

If youre doing dropshipping, pretend like you just got money and youre buying a gift for someone. The concept is the same. Youre paying for the product but shipping it out to your client. In other news, what do you charge your clients for shipping? Ask your manufacturer from Aliexpress how much is Shipping?

DHL is a European company so all over Europe they ship from US to Europe. You can also contact DHL and UPS and ask them if they ship to every country which I assume they do. It gets tricky shipping to like Abudabi and middle eastern countries tho.

Here is an example: If shipping cost you $5 and you originally charged your clients $10 for shipping....but then you lower your shipping cost to the client to charge them $8 for shipping, youre still going to get charged $5 for shipping. One thing is what you charge your clients for shipping, but separately is what you're being charged to ship.
