Depends on what kind of doorbell camera you have. If it is a skybell you should have no problem factory resetting and following the video. But if it is an alarm.com slim or proprietary it will only work through the brand name such as alarm.com or ring etc. The only doorbell that works off both alarm.com or skybell is the original round ones before alarm.com starting making their own. Does your doorbell stay blue ? Because that means it is powering up or power cycling. Sorry for the late reply. my apologies..

Hi Karla, when it goes blue it usually means that there is not enough power. The transformer for your doorbell is probably not giving enough power to fully charge the battery and stay online. The transformer is usually found in the basement near your electrical box. I would recommend to purchase a transformer above 12V. You can grab the kit from Canadian tire or Home Depot it actually comes with the doorbell chime for your hallway and transformer. Last time i purchased it cost me around $30 to $40. If you are handy just unscrew the doorbell and check the voltage. It has to provide 11 + volts. Anything around 10.5 volts it will give you trouble.. Hope this helps..

Just moved into a house came with a SkyBell I’ve tried factory resetting as well but keeps saying my wifi password is incorrect 😢

Hi there, no you do not need an IQ panel in order to connect a skybell doorbell camera. If you have an alarm.com skybell which is usually a slim doorbell then you will need an alarm.com account. But if you have a skybell (round) or purchased from skybell then you will only need the skybell app. Once your skybell powers up and flashes red and green then that means it is sending a signal through wifi waiting for connection & installtion. You should see it on your phone like searching for a wifi connection. I hope this helps ?

If you have the slim it is proprietary to alarm.com platform only. But the round one can work on either skybell or alarm.com.

@@glen.campbell i have the slim one. It took me a while but I figured it out. What i ended up having to do was set it up on my (work phone) Galaxy phone. Once I tried it on the galaxy it worked just like the video. For some reason my pixel 5 was not allowing it go get past that part. I logged out on my work phone, then in on my personal phone, works just fine!

Hi there, I'm sorry i missed your comment. Chances are you may be attempting to enroll an alarm.com camera into a skybell app ? Some models look and are exactly the same but may only work on the alarm.com app. Which means you have to pay for it through Alarm.com Hope you already figured it out, and again my apologies for not responding.

Hey Alan, Is it a skybell ? Round ? If you have a chance send me a pic. There are a few companies that use the skybell and have them programmed for their system if it is not purchased through skybell itself.

@@glen.campbell Its the SKYBELL Slimline, rectangle with black top and camera, I think, and its a builders install for the local crappy security company so its proprietary for them i think, I tried to hack it and it didnt like that. I wanted to send a pic but I cannot figure out how. Pisses me off they sold it like it was mine when i bought the house, but its not, its the security companies property.

@@alanaddington Ok, so you will need to have the alarm.com platform to make it function. Unfortunately there is a monthly charge attached to it. This is done so it prompts you to purchase the security platform via builder. Probably a Kickback between builder and security company most likely.

Yes, i believe you received the slim doorbell. When they first came out they only came in the round doorbell camera. But the programming and setup is the exact same for alarm.com

Depends on the doorbell camera you have and where you bought it. If you have a round skybell you can download the skybell app. If you have it attached to a security system from a provider then you could have it attached through alarm.com

@@fhenry89 that ended up being because the camera was not compatible with the app. The model was specifically made for home security companies and they do not allow you to connect it directly to the app. That is what customer service told me. I ended up replacing it with a different brand of door bell.
