Great video Set my unit up in no time with confidence after watching. I had read the quick start guide but wasn’t sure if it was really that simple. Your video proved it was. Thanks again
Thanks for reaching out. You do not need wifi in you garage. The Liftmaster Internat gateway connects to the internet through your wifi router via the Ethernet cable(shown in video). The Liftmaster internet gateway also connects to your garage door opener using myq technology, I show how to do this starting @ around 2 minutes in the video. You will need to download the myq app and follow the instructions outlined in the video.
Good day Charlie's DIY Projects, The Liftmaster Internet Gateway uses an app called Myq. The Myq app is extremely user friendly and allows you to easily add third party devices as well as services. I speak about it in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zo0kNkYbjxE.html. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for reaching out. The 828LM LiftMaster Internet Gateway is designed to work with LiftMaster MyQ-enabled garage door openers. You can connect multiple garage door openers to a single 828LM gateway as long as they are compatible with the MyQ technology. You do not need separate gateways for each door. You can add each garage door opener to the MyQ app individually, and the single gateway will communicate with all of them, allowing you to control and monitor each door separately from the app. Here's how it generally works: 1) Install the 828LM gateway and connect it to your home's Wi-Fi network. 2) Install the MyQ app on your smartphone or tablet. 3) Pair each of your garage door openers with the 828LM gateway through the MyQ app. 4) Once paired, you can name each garage door opener individually for easy identification. This setup allows you to control both garage doors from anywhere using your smartphone, provided you have an internet connection
Good day, I shared an image of my power supply with you. I posted it in my Community as a post. Let me know if you received the share. UPDATE: I also found that I could copy the link. Here you go ru-vid.comUgkxnKPAxPvpjuJ0sSgQ3cZD5rHAv6O3XenH
where i just moved is a my q garage opener with yellow learn button that has wifi worded right under the myQ logo. i've followed troubleshoot steps through the myQ app but still can't seem to get the opener connected to my network to completely set up on the app. would buying this product help my problem? or will it not make a difference because my opener already says wifi ?? i've been seeing and research this product online but scared to spend $80 on something that still won't help
It sounds like you're experiencing issues with connecting your garage door opener, which has a built-in WiFi feature (as indicated by the WiFi logo under the myQ logo), to your home network. Before considering purchasing a new product, let's try to troubleshoot your current setup: Check Compatibility: Ensure that your garage door opener is compatible with the myQ app. Most modern openers with a myQ logo should be, but it's always good to verify. WiFi Signal Strength: The distance between your garage door opener and your WiFi router can affect the connection. If the opener is too far from the router, the signal might be weak. You could try moving your router closer to the garage or using a WiFi extender. Frequency Band: Most smart home devices, including myQ devices, work best with 2.4 GHz WiFi networks. If your home network is set to 5 GHz or uses a combined 2.4/5 GHz setting, try setting it to 2.4 GHz only during the setup process. Restart Devices: Sometimes, simply restarting both your WiFi router and the garage door opener can resolve connectivity issues. Update the myQ App: Ensure that the myQ app is updated to the latest version on your smartphone. Reset the Garage Door Opener: If none of the above steps work, try resetting the WiFi settings on your garage door opener. You can usually do this by holding down the yellow learn button. Refer to your opener's manual for specific instructions. Network Settings: Make sure your network is not blocking devices like garage openers. Some routers have settings that prevent new devices from connecting without manual approval. If, after trying these steps, your opener still fails to connect to WiFi, the product you're considering might be a WiFi bridge or a similar device designed to improve connectivity. However, if your opener already has a built-in WiFi feature, an additional WiFi bridge may not resolve the issue unless the problem is specifically related to poor WiFi signal strength or compatibility.
So do I need a garage door opener in addition to the internet gateway? it was not clear to me. Also you said that you couldn't stop the garage door once it was in progress. Is that true?
Thanks for reaching out, no you would not need the physical garage door opener as you would be able to open the garage door with the app. Yes once it is closing/opening you can not stop it using the app, however if you put you foot in front of the sensor or click the physical button in your garage you would be able to stop it.
TY sir. Ive had my new construction house for 6 yrs and just found this hub in the jitchen drawer 😂. And i just lost ny garage opener and now i dont have to sownd money in a new one.
How is it not secure? You have to download a myq app to your phone. You send open and close instructions through the app to your internet gateway, which is connected to your internet via a network cable, and the internet gateway sends those instructions to the garage door.
Hi When there is a power outage and power is restored the myQ app says unknown, locking us out. Do you know how to get connection without access to the garage door opener. Thanks
Good day, I had this very same thing happened to me and so I take the front door key with me so that I have a backup and because it rarely happens I am seldom inconvenienced. I mentioned this issue in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zo0kNkYbjxE.html
Good day I hope that you were able to find the answer to this question. If you are not seeing a wifi image on your garage door opener then you would need a liftmaster internet gateway. I created a video here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P0vDyYNwhZc.html
Good day Justin, if the light is blinking then it means that the lift master is connected to the router but not to the internet. Try confirming that you have internet through your router by connecting a phone or computer wirelessly to your router. 1) If you cannot connect to the internet then reset/restart the modem. 2) If you can connect to the internet then try plugging the cable into another slot on the Router. Thanks for reaching out.
Good day, The operating distance of the LiftMaster Internet Gateway (828LM) and the garage door is between 300 - 600ft. You are able to open/close the garage door from anywhere in the world because you would be using the app on your phone.
