In this video I walk through the step by step instructions, guide, tutorial on how to setup a wifi router in your home. You plugin the wireless router to the wall outlet, plug in the ethernet cable to the wifi router internet input blue slot and the other end to the ISP internet modem ethernet output, then make sure the wifi signal is turned on, then on your computer setup the wifi connection by entering in the password to the name of the wireless router you're setting up. wow, thanks for your help. I was doing it in reverse & set up the router at the computer in the other room. Your video showed me the correct way & I now have wi fi internet to the other computer. Great video.

Whar a great demo...voice and explanation, perfect...right sound, temp and description. BTW, I checked my router reading at the back of it and it said passwor: leave empty. Why would it say that? No password? I show a password on mine.

Yes it needs a physical connection to the modem. Otherwise, it won't be able to talk to the internet.

It depends if the old router being used was not letting you use all of you bandwidth that comes with your plan so for example if you had a 500mb/s plan but the router could only deliver 300mb/s then upgrading to a better router would make it faster

You'd be surprised. I'm not trying to be rude or condescending, but I've worked with some people (I'm an IT tech) who need to be told that they need to push the power button on their computer or plug the power strip into the wall in order for their stuff to work.

If you want your PC to connect to the router wirelessly, do you also have to call your internet service provider to ask them to disable to routing feature in the modem?

No. That wouldn't make sense. You connect your PC to your wifi network like any other device. Look for the wifi network name, select it, and enter the password for the network. This has nothing to do with your internet provider.

If your ISP’s standard router is providing wifi will that network still be visible/accessible or will this automatically replace it? And If so how do you ensure that this new router is the only one transmitting wifi ?

You will need to manually change your provider's settings so that it allows the other router to work correctly. If you plug in a router to another router, it will work, but may cause some network problems if you're doing certain things like online gaming. This is usually referred to as "double NAT". On your ISP router, you will need to turn off the wifi network and enable bridge mode or similar so that the 3rd party router works correctly.
