Great tutorial, one thing, if you enable the developer mode, you can simply reload the aircraft after editing the config file, may save time reloading the sim. Happy simming and many thanks!!
Hey there mate, sorry that you think the process is too convoluted - I sincerely feel that it's still very easy though - it's nothing to do with the source code for the sim, it's just a couple lines in the user configuration file that will later allow you to do everything you want directly in-sim. Hope you get it to work :) Nevertheless, for more such high quality flight sim and aviation related content, do be sure to leave a like and subscribe to the channel. Thanks for Flying By!

This is one thing XPlane11 does so well, the views , no text editing needed, why did MS make it so clunky like FSX! A question - since the wingview camera is OUTSIDE that means when we use wingview we will hear EXTERNAL engine and environmental sounds? It will not be realistic in-cabin internal sounds? I cannot wait to get MSFS, I dont even own it yet because my PC is too weak but I really enjoyed your video! Your presentation is very good, keep up the good work. No 10 min dubstep intro, no silly loud music, straight into the subject matter...a rare thing! Subbed! :-)
I have wing views. Everyone does. The new 3 screens need another adjustment because I can see my wings in my front windshield. I call it "Tow-In" like wheels on a car. The side views suck. And things look better if you position yourself in the middle. BUT most planes you sit to the left and when you do that the right side destorts. They need more work on the side views.
A ?. That did not work for me. I found another cameras.cnfg file in my Community folder under fly-by-wirea320neo folder which is larger 34 kb than this file 7 kb. Should try to replace it w/ that one..? Tho. in that one, I don't see it as havin that title= '6'..
Thanks man! Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
11:28 "Now if I go ahead and press 6. Look what happens. ... There we go. We are outside the simulator" - Neo... its you? :D - Good Video and well explained. Thank you!
Okey, iam gonna simple follow these instructions, so that I will be simple able to setup simple custom views, which were simple not possible before. Thank you for your simple Video. It was simple to follow and I simple enjoyed to go through this simple organized video.
Kinda confused, I created the custom view "6" in the sim. But the "Title ="6" doesn't show up anywhere in the camera cfg. All the titles have names like title ="Pilot", etc. I know this video is 2 years old, so im guessing Asobo switched things up. **Edit: The workaround for me was since I couldn't find the correct title name for my custom view. I edited the Xyz section of title ="Pilot" portion of the camera.cfg just like in this tutorial (default cockpit view when you load the aircraft in MSFS). Then loaded MSFS, created and saved it as a custom view where I wanted it to be. Then re-opened the camera.cfg and put back the default values of the title ="Pilot" portion and saved. Now when I load the aircraft again in MSFS I hit the custom view key and it loads it! Although there was a workaround, I wouldnt have figured it out without this tutorial. Thanks!
Thanks! I had the same issue with the 310, even though the first time I set views up in the 320neo they worked just like the video, but after I went back to try it again on the 320 when it wasn't working on the 310, I had the same issue with the 320 lol...
So you only need to do this ONCE for Title = 6? Then, if you want to set 1) Under-carriage view, 2) Tail View, 3) Left-Wing View, and 4) Right-Wing View, you do this just by moving the new 'outside camera' (Title = 6) to where you want then simply use F7, F8 & F9 to set them, rather than editing Title = 7, Title = 8, Title = 9, etc...?
Hey there, thanks for watching and apologies for the delay in response. YES, this only needs to be done once. Once you end up breaking the walls of the cockpit and venturing out, you can use your camera translation keys to then set the other views in the sim as desired :) Nevertheless, for more such high quality flight sim and aviation related content, do be sure to leave a like and subscribe to the channel. Thanks for Flying By!
please forgive me been trying for 1 hour to move inside the cockpit but i cant i can only change angle view tried every button to move to corner like you said and save as ctrl F5 for example in cockpit camera ,,any help how to move please ??
I've just noticed that there is already a fixed camera view from the tail wing by default, pressing ctrl+shift+ and number, for the glider anyway! I don't know if these views have recently been added?
Hey there mate, thanks for watching! I usually use the period key to translate the view forwards. Nevertheless, if you enjoyed the content in the video and wish to support a small channel like mine, please be sure to leave a like and subscribe to the channel for more such videos :)
First of all - absolutely great tutorial! Same procedure was possible on X-Plane 11, so I was quite familiar with the steps, even though I needed to find out the correct path of FBW A320 (not community folder :) ). One simple question: Is there any way to "enable" the outside sound? In fact that your settings are all customized cockpit views, everything sounds like from the inside.
Thank you so much for watching mate, unfortunately, I don't really think there's any way to enable the outside sounds since using this technique essentially gets rid of cockpit walls for you to move out of it. The wing sounds are pretty accurate though, but not on the outside from what I remember :( Nevertheless, for more such high quality flight sim and aviation related content, do be sure to leave a like and subscribe to the channel. Thanks for Flying By!
Pure genius! Thank you so much! I've been trying to figure this out for a while now, as I have X-PLANE 11.. And I am quite used to these wing views and I have really missed not having them in the new Sim..👍
I hated it when addons in X-plane did this, when they restrict where you can “walk” I really don’t get the point of doing that, it’s extra work and money that restricts users from setting cameras as they please aka wing view, what’s the point!?
Yeah, it's not entirely the fault of the simulator in all cases though, it's also aircraft specific. However, I do agree that it can get very annoying sometimes. Nevertheless, hope you enjoyed the content and if you did, a like and a subscription would be greatly appreciated:)
Hi I’ve I’m new to the flight simulator I’ve got thurstmaster controls for it but the problem with I got is with camera first my cockpit point camera view is too high touch the roof of the plane second it the camera in cockpit just drifting it’s self please can you help me fixing it
Me neither mate - but this is the only way for now :( Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
I feel it's imperative that I cover the intricate details as some prefer to understand why I'm doing what I'm doing. I've clearly marked chapters throughout the video so you can navigate to all the pertinent portions of the video at your convenience. Thanks for watching.
It is not really working for me because when i press airplanes and look for airplanes file then i press airplanes again on the aircraft list I can't find it so i just press the aircraft that you pressed witch was a320 neo it just pops up after i press it state.CFG
You didn't demonstrated how to actually set the cameras, only how to open de Controls menu and find the cameras setup. A tutorial should be a complete step by step guide imo.
Agreee - as a newbie simmer sorting out the camera views has been one of the most frustrating things for me. Even something as straightforward as trying to easily switch to see the trim wheel in a 172 and the switch back to a regular forward cockpit view. In real life you just glance down. In the sim while taking off - aargh! It’s easy - when you know how or are shown how. MSFS almost has too many options that can be set.
I set up 9 different views in the cockpit and when I toggle from the cockpit view to any of the other 8 different views , it doesn't toggle back to the cockpit view but it toggles to a copilot view slightly high any thoughts on what I should do thank you
I followed it up to the point where you went into the files. I found that if you save a camera view in the place you did and just keep spamming in and out of that view it glitches you out of the aircraft

Thanks very much your video was very helpful. I am just curious how you are able to move your cockpit view so the camera is behaind the seats. When I use the mouse scroll wheel or the arrow keys it only moved to the end the the pedestal in the center of the cockpit.
Oh that's weird. If you're using the A32NX mod by FlyByWire, then the cameras.cfg file should be exactly where it was specified in the video. Are you sure you're in the right folder. There are several airplane folders under the simobjects tab. Make sure you go into simobjects/airliners. That's where you'll find the A320 neo. You can find the exact path of your folder in the description section of the video. Hope that helped :) Please consider liking the video and maybe subscribe to the channel if you enjoyed the content:)
@@FlyBySimulations thank you so much for your help mate. Finally found it and mine was in community folder for some reason maybe coz of the MODED plane. But yea finally cracked it lol
I’m glad you found it! Hope you have fun with the aircraft. Once again, please don’t forget to give the video a like if it helped and please subscribe to the channel to help me out😁

@@FlyBySimulations I have a question... My flight sim has been smooth since I bought it but today when I flew to Heathrow, I got really bad stuttering.. do you have this problem? I only seem to get stuttering in Heathrow upon landing there.
Great video ! Thanks for creating it. I use the same HOTAS, would you mind sharing your key mappings...or a video?. I'm curious how others are setting up the stick and throttle. TYIA

This is great! thanks for sharing! It's strange that these external views aren't available from the start though?? Bit of a pain to have to do this for every single aircraft?!
No worries Phil. It is strange indeed. Hope they come up with a better solution for this in the future :/ Nevertheless, if you enjoy the content on the channel, do consider subscribing and giving the video a like to be part of the FlyBy Simulations community - would love to have you!
One thing I discovered though, was, The rotate movement around only goes so far, so I set up the same view ,but when I went into camera cfg., instead of a plus5, I went to -5. Put me out the opposite side which enabled me to go ahead and set up my views on the starboard side. Thanks for your help.
Hey Steve, correct! You can even set up the individual values to lower numbers (eg: -2 or 1). As long as the value gets you outside the confines of the aircraft fuselage, you're good!

Hey, I bought the game on microsoft store and played it for a couple of hours. When I go to appdata and roaming or local, there is no MSFS folder there. Any idea where it might be?
Of course! Glad I could help mate :) Nevertheless, if you enjoyed the content in the video and wish to support a small channel like mine, please be sure to leave a like and subscribe to the channel for more such videos :)
Hey there HyperFS, thanks for watching. As of now, I don't think there is anyway for you to scroll between all the views by simply using 1 or 2 keys. However, the technique that I have specified in this tutorial is pretty simple as is. It only requires a few buttons that you need to cycle through and you can setup as few or as many custom views as you want - as long as you have less than 10 views set-up. Sorry about that. Hope you still found the video informative. If you did, please consider giving it a like and maybe subscribing to the channel:)
i have got so far as to move myself out of the plane (after the -5) and move around freely no problem, but I cant move myself back into inside the plane. am i doing anything wrong?
Hey there! Well that's good progress for a start. Have you mapped some keys to be able to translate forward and backward within the cockpit in the sim? Do you see the rest of the aircraft when you look behind you as demonstrated in the video, or do you see nothing and only the silhouette of the cockpit? It sure would be great if RU-vid would allow you to send pictures to me in the comments so I could help you out better, but here's my email if you want to send me jpeg and I can help you out further: flyby.bizdev@gmail.com
Hey there Rudi, the T16000 is indeed compatible with Xbox (the whole FCS suite is, including the side stick, the throttle quadrant as well as the rudder pedals). You can purchase it off of Amazon. That's where I got it personally :)
The problem OR challenge is - on external custom views like how you created, when you go external, you don't hear externally - you're hearing as if you're still inside the plane. Any way to address that?
Hey there, no it shouldn't interfere with those key bindings. As long as you have the ATC responding buttons configured to different buttons on your keyboard, it shouldn't be a problem:)
i seriously need help with this , my stupid computer shows my microsoft user name not the computer's name which is different ,for this reason i can not find the MSFS 2020 folder ,because it don't show anywhere

Hey there, my specs are given down in the description section of the video. Maybe the reason I'm able to pan so smoothly is because I'm not on full ultra settings. It's a mix between medium, high end as well as ultra settings. Furthermore, when watching the compressed/processed video on RU-vid, it sure looks a lot smoother than it is in person, so take whatever you see on RU-vid with a grain of salt. I am planning to do a full settings/tweak guide for MSFS 2020 as well. Would you be interested in something like that by any chance?
@@FlyBySimulations Hey. Thanks a lot for the answer. That attitude is really humble and honest, thanks for the advice, will definitely watch my step about believing youtube videos. And for sure I'd be totally into checking that full setting/tweak guide. I ve been entertaining the idea of upgrading to the 5800x but don't know if spending 450-500£ plus another cooling fan without solid results
Thanks! I am late to the msfs2020 show (although I bought it on release day 2 years ago and didn't like it), but with the new good planes these past 2 months and better performance xp11 unfortunately despite my 40 plus payware aircraft had to go. But wing views are a must... Thanks!
I know this is an older video but dude you are the best! I have just set up the MSFS cameras exactly like what I was used to in P3D with ChasePlane. P3D is well and truly dead for me now, cheers!
This is achieved via fixed views, but you are unable to pan around them. Fixed views can be set to the came coordinates as your custom views (copy position from xml file).
12:10 HOw do you "move around" the flight deck? What is the name of the keybinds which are set these movements? And the saving itself does not working for me.
