Thanks very much. This is helpful for us(I am Chinese,Our network can not use Google,I need to use the vpn to avoid the check to visit Google and RU-vid),Thanks a lot.But I think could you speak slowly when you are exited? It is so defficult for us to understand so fast sentence(hahahahahahahahahaha, express my foolish)
Why doesn't it work on my machine?? My server is ubuntu 18.10, client is Kali linux 4.19.0. I followed your steps to set it, but I can't to access network. I can ping my server(10.100.100.1) , but can't ping anything else like google.com. What's going wrong??
I didn't actually do the step in the demo because I wasn't going to restart the computer (breaks the SSH connection) but the guide does show how to enable on startup. Just a single command - systemctl enable wg-quick@wg0.service
jesus... thats complicated af... and I work with Linux all the time. I prefer a simple ssh tunnel as someone already mentioned. No need to fiddle around with config files, keys, permissions, and and and...
ExpressVPN is more of a service where you connect to THEIR VPN this would be more like you want to connect to your own system...or want to VPN into a VM hosted on a VPS provider somewhere.
@@NoahChelliah cool thanks, but say if you wanted to connect to an Vpn that is another country, then using expressvpn would be an good option, but if there is no need for that, then wireguard would be more than good enough? tgreat thanks.
@@YuTonyGraceRevolution Correct. If you are looking for a VPN to encrypt and protect your traffic from your home network out to the internet or perhaps you live in a country that doesn't allow certain sites and wish to visit them then something like ExpressVPN or Private Internet Access (what I use) would be a better choice. As I mentioned though you could rent a VM on a VPS somewhere and setup WireGuard and accomplish almost the same thing. The only difference would be if the VPS company would give you up if they were subpoenaed. Private Internet Access (PIA for short) has a long proven track record of not keeping logs on their users. Courts have demanded they reveal who was connected at a given a time from a given IP address and they're answer has consistently been "We'd love to tell you...but we don't know, we don't log it, and you're welcome to look"
Funny you should ask - they are merging into the kernel so DKMS should no longer be necessary. arstechnica.com/gadgets/2020/03/wireguard-vpn-makes-it-to-1-0-0-and-into-the-next-linux-kernel/
Because this will re-route all traffic on the client via the VPN. Using your method you need to set a proxy on the application to point at localhost with the chosen port number, which not every application has (for example setting this proxy on Windows 10 doesn't work for global re-route, and my RDP tools don't have an option to set a proxy for the connection). I've used this trick before to work around my ISP, but it's not perfect.
Good how-to But ssh is a lot less work. ssh server: sudo apt-get install openssh-server -y (and done) Client: ``` ssh-keygen -t ssh-copy-id "remote ip address of server or hostname or domain name" ``` Done in 30 seconds.. Thats how easy ssh server and client config is, not what you claim to be similour to setup Wireguard. Also you can route really easy trough ssh with the tool "sshuttle" : ``` sudo apt-get install sshuttle -y sudo sshutle -r "username@ip, hostname or domain name" 0/0 PS: The 0/0 is the network you want to route trough the ssh tunnel. In this example it routes all the traffic 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 trough the ssh tunnel. If you want to route a specific network just change the 0/0 to the desired network you want to route trough the "vpn" like: 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0 = 192.168.10.0/24 (/24 means 255.255.255.0 from binary to decimal). for example: sudo sshutle -r user@example.com 192.168.10.0/24
Hello, after installation Wiregard on VPS, Is it possible to create accounts for using this server and sell them to people? (Limit the number of simultaneous connections and the number of days allowed for use)
hi can you please help me ?? i have trying for several days and lost so many hours and cant put my mullvad wireguard account on my openwrt router. Please, help me
hi i dont have linux and i cant every thing you do if send you my private key and public key from tunsafe can you create conf file for me?? please help me
Noobie to networking and VPN stuff here. So after it's connected would the client be able to see files and such of the host server on the local area connection? This can be used to remotely access files from home?
Thanks for the great video. One question is it possible to access both networks? I mean from the server side access the network behind the client and vice versa. Thanks
That’s concise! Can my client be a linksys wrt3200acm, firmware openwrt running Linux? Would this make it so all connections through the router will be masked with the VPN? Thanks!!
Hi, I could have sworn I read that there was a way to use wireguard with a QR code or some other kind of simple easy way to connect? Thanks I subscribed
After creating a new .conf file, you can use wireguard on your phone by generating a QR code using the command: # qrencode -t ansiutf8 < client.conf That's if your .conf file is named "client.conf".
If you have services to host somewhere that has a dynamic ip, you'll want a solution for that issue. On your favorite search engine, something like 'dynamic dns servvice' will provide potential solutions for you.
i just set this up, but my client cant ping the server, and when i ping the client from the server i get destination address required, i think there might be something wrong, anybody any ideas how to fix this?
I tried ... root@wireguard:~# add-apt-repository ppa:wireguard/wireguard bash: add-apt-repository: command not found I fixed it this way root@wireguard:~# sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
12 minutes tutorial? He didn't even make it to 9! How can I trust a tutorial that is clear, concise, well documented and useful when Noah doesn't even bother to time travel to the future to see the file length in order to get it right during recording?
