Thank you! This is exactly what I've been looking for. I've lost most of my hair since menopause so I need something pretty to keep my head warm and still flaunt my "hippy" bohemian style. I have some shorter, sample pieces of fancy knit fabrics. I want to try mixing two together to make the tube. I think it will look really cool with the twist to show contrasting fabrics. Love your steel drum music too. I bought my son a steel tongue drum, but he didn't like it, so I'm trying to learn how to play it myself! At least it sounds better than when I tried to teach myself to play saxophone... I scared my poor dog honking on that thing. Years ago, I was lamenting that I wish I'd learned to play an instrument when I was young, and someone told me to do it now! It's never too late to learn new things, and he was so right. I've learned from RU-vid to do home repairs and even some simple car repairs that saved me $$ (more money to spend on fabric and tools, am-I-right? 😉) I love finding creative people like you to teach me. I've sewn all my life, but there's always more to learn and you are a joy to watch and listen to, beautiful lady! I'm subscribing! 🤩

Thanks for showing this I've always struggled with sewing this type of hat and I think it's because I sewed it together while the twist is near the end where I'm sewing. Your pinning method appears to get the whole twist-out away to the other end of the hat.
