All of the the sudden I feel taller I'm 4'11 LOL. It is very hard to find our size I struggled with that when I moved here in the US I can't find anything that fits me unless I buy it in the children clothes section or I make it. I'm glad this video is inspiring God bless you too!

Beautiful dress.. Try sewing a seam then ironing. It gives a more professional look. And to get really good crisp pleates try spraying the fabric with 1 part white vinegar to two parts water onto the pleated area and then hot iron (or at the temp the fabric can stand). ;)

Thank you Debbie that was a great advise I don't use vinegar and water mixture but I will try it next time. I ironed the pleats right after I filmed this lol.

I know, the world is crazy, right???? I also had a very hard time to find theese dresses for years!!! Now, in my country some companies started to produce more modest dresses but there was a period of time in which it was so hard to find them!!! Fashion is insane nowadays and no longer makes decent clothes. I am in the process of learning how to sew my own dresses. :)

I just simply doubled my waistline plus I added 10 inches more just incase I needed more. It always a good idea to have extra allowance that not have enough.

How do you know how many pleats do you need for your size of the waist ?

I just winged it honestly I played around with how wide the pleats and how many even pleats can get.

how did you manage to get the box pleat right up to the end and fitted exactly round the waist. Are the box pleat measurements same for all ?

I just used the bodice as my guide so the skirt will fit exactly. I was able to make 3 inches wide pleats. Play around with the pleats first. I think it will be the same for all of course if you are making a size bigger you will need longer fabric.
