How to Sew a Foldable Shopping Bag
In this video, I used a canvas fabric that I printed by myself. Please see "How to print your own fabric" here • How to print your own ... if you're interested.
To make this foldable shopping bag, you'll need:
1. Fabric
2. Snap buttons and plier tools
and basic sewing tools i.e. pins, scissors, markers, etc.

Really like how easy and convenient you sewed and made that bag look. ☺️ Is that a serger machine you used; can I get that same look & neat stitch with a regular sewing machine?🤔

It isn't a serger. I used a regular sewing machine. The key is using an overcast stitch. I believe that all sewing machine has this kind of stitch, or at least you may use a zigzag & straight one to do this. Check the manual of ur sewing machine first. It may help.

Don't be sorry ! in fact, the first one is really useful, smaller in my bag, for library books or little shopping, I am really very happy with it :) !! So still better to have the two sizes, but for me it was a nice mistake !!!

I like your pattern but after three times watching I still couldn't figure out what measurements to use when it came to placing the straps. Are there written instructions that I could read? I want to make one since it seems a lot less complicated than the ones I've been watching. I just want to know how far from the edge and how many inches in between the straps on each side.

Sangeeta Krishnan It's the "overcast stitch". I believe that in most of regular sewing machine there's such stitch that can imitate an overlock stitch, and it works well with an overcasting foot.

I don't understand how the sides are only 12", but the main bag portion is cut at 14". There will be 2" left over.

Hi, I sewn the 32" side to 14", 4" , and then 14" side, not 12" to 14". When you finish the bag, you'll get the 14" height x 12" width x 4" thickness bag.
