I'm marroccian When I saw this video I knew I was very lucky hhhhh Your channel is great and your explanation is accurate. I used to say that there is no one who explains this accurately, and now I found it . thank youuuuu NATALIA
You are the first person I’ve seen on RU-vid that has easily explained how to layout, tape and cut a PDF pattern!! Thank you!! So many people just bypass this info. Instant thumb’s up and follow w/ the bell!!
Fantastic! You do great craftsmanship. I would like to see the same pattern with extra thick interfacing for an extra warm hoodie and how well it would sew.
Very clear instructions! I appreciate no music in background. 👍 I’d like to learn about adding a tie and metal hole keepers (I think that’s what they are called).
I'm so grateful to find your channel! Your videos are calming and easy to follow. I admire your style. Though I am a novice, I am so inspired to try. Thank you so much for showing us how we can make our own comfy clothes!! :)
Thank you so much for posting this!!! Just waiting on my serger to arrive then I’m buying the pattern and trying it myself:) Do you think you could make a video on matching sweatpants w/a drawstring? kind of like the Aritzia ones? That would be incredible 💗
Great discover 👍🏻 I’m French and I’m wondering if you could indicate valors in inch and centimeters too in order to help us to understand your tutorial. You are a very good teacher. Thank you.
I have been looking for a hoodie made in my size (6XLT) and have not been able to find one. I guess I might just need to make my own. Now to find Tie_Dye hoodie fabric. With making my own, I might make the cuffs, waist and hoodie parts different colors. Love your video.
This is really interesting to watch! I don't know much about sewing at all, but I'm looking into it since I want to start making my own clothes. I am both plus and tall so it's hard to find clothes that will look and fit how I want- so I have been doing my research. For someone who is new to all this, this was really easy to follow along with and I understood most of the terms and steps! ^^'. Will definitely be checking out your channel again for future reference.
VERY HELPFUL, have you thought about putting a topstitch on the shoulders and sides or is there a practical reason why not to, would to know thanks so much :)
Great video, thank you. Can you advise why you use straight stick on, for example, the waistband rather than use the serger? I understand straight stitch is fine on seams that will not have too much stretch required of them but wondering why straight stitch on the waistband, won’t the stitches break when it gets stretched to put it on? Thanks so much for you wisdom!
Hello :) When you stretch the fabric a little bit while sewing a straight stitch it it becomes an “elasticized straight stitch” (no actual elastic required!). This means the stitches won’t pop when the fabric is stretched! :) You can sew the waistband to the hoodie with the serger only, however I find it can be more challenging for beginners! If you mess up with the serger, it’s difficult to unpick with the seam ripper and it cuts some of your fabric off! Also, not everyone has a serger- I wanted to make the tutorial beginner friendly :) Hope that helps, Natalia
Hi Natalia - I love this hoodie but am wondering if you have it in a size medium and small pattern? I have printed out the size L and it looks huge. If you could let me know, I'd appreciate it :). Keep up the great work !!!!
Hello Natalia! You said 3 yards of fabric but what is the fabric height, is 55 ins good? Thanks for your channel, I'm looking forward to make my own hoodie with your pattern!
Hi, I hope you are fine and doing well. Your work is so good and amazing. I like your great work and fellow your tips and it's my first experience to make this hoodie.. great job..
Thank you for this very nice tutorial. Your pattern on Etsy is very reasonable. Could you show how to make adjustments to the pattern for different sizes please? I would like to make several family members hoodies and the sizes very a great deal.
Can you think of any reason Not to do a fold around seam for the cuff? @10:00 So you fold the edge inward then fold over the edge of the sleeve | [|] [ I ] ?? Sewn on before you sew the sleeve*(so its straight* Not folded backwards over sleeve end like u show*...? My design im developing has this im wondering what u think? Lemme know if this doesn't make sense lol
how would I go about adding a zipper down the middle of this hoodie? does that need to come after I finish sewing it or would I have to alter the pattern itself?
I'm just wondering cuz I haven't seen any comments about this, but would this hoodie pattern work for someone who's plus sized? I'm making it as a gift for someone who's plus sized and I want to make sure it would have that same oversized look on them
You are a very Beautiful lady; Talented, Very Calm manner; and Your Instructions are impeccable! 👏🏽I Just Subscribed & Purchased Your Pattern on Etsy! 🥰Thanks A Million Love; and Perpetual Success to You!❤👑
Natalia, I love your content... I'm an aspiring South African fashion designer and I'm having trouble with my overlocker. My thread always snaps no matter how much I adjust the tension. I'm not even sure if I thread it properly. Can you show us how you thread yours?
I wish I had the brain to do this things, my aunt knows how to do all this so if I want to start I could just ask her which is more easy but I don't ask her because I want to learn it without help from any adult, do you have a tip for starting?? It would be very helpful:)
When I have double layered things, I generally just cut out two copies of the pattern piece, and baste them together into one unit. I usually just use an extra long stitch in the seam allowance.
Can you be more specific on the measurements like how do you get that if you don’t have those papers? I’m trying to make things work for mine cuz I’m very smol and need the right measurements. Ty;)
Yes it’s from Etsy :) type in “jersey fleece” and different sellers will pop up. I recommend 100% cotton or a 80% cotton and 20% polyester blend for comfort! Also on Etsy type in “Rib Knit fabric” or “Rib knit for waistband” and options will show up :)
(Love the video, gonna give a playful judgment) WHY EVERYTHING WHITE!! HAVE SIME COLOR! hoodie white, table white, wall white, lamp white, items white 🤣🤣🤣 haha great video! 😊
hahha sometimes I joke that it looks like an insane asylum (like the white padded rooms) lol. I have added a few pops of color and some fake plants to the room since this video 😂
its not cheaper unfortunately😅 you can buy a hoodie on Amazon for $14 or thrift a hoodie for cheaper! people sew their own because they can choose the type of fabric/print/color combos they want and because people like to sew as a hobby. (feels good to make something from scratch!) for example, you can buy a grocery store ready cake that is cheap and will taste good. but making your own beautiful, delicious cake from scratch is way more rewarding even if it costs a little more! :)
i want to buy patterns from you but i need them to be A0. Is it possible for you to turn them into A0 size? ive tried with other patterns and i failed miserably lol
