What's up guys! I have a sewing tutorial up today and in it I show how to make a combination pleated skirt. Hope you enjoy this video and be inspired to recreate it in your own time ^.^
Kim Dave I Love those colours together. I got some Ankara fabric from Zambia gifted to me. I have a pants set in mind but need help with the pants pattern, will show you on IG tomorrow xx
Hi, thanks for this tutorial. If I understood properly the width of both the yellow fabric and the black and white one is the size of your waist, which makes it twice the measurement of your waist in total, am I right or do we need twice the measurement of your waist for each fabric?
I'm so in love! I just finished my skirt. My very first garment. I'm a quilter so this was so fun and satisfaction was way faster than sewing a quilt. I made it gray with Oakland Raider print inside the pleats. I wish I could upload a picture. Thank you soooooooooo much!
I'm currently working on a different pleated skirt, but this is my next project! One thing I found while working on my current project - it's easier to pin everything together if you baste the pleats in place before attempting to attach a waistband or lining.
Good day Priscilla. I am glad I found YOUR channel. I HAVE been seeking other black women who sew. I HAVE watched at least 6 videos. I like this tutorial. Keep making THESE vidoes PLEASE!!! ✂️✂️😁
I like the way you made this skirt. Had problem with another box pleated pattern, haven't sewed anything since high school. Waiting for the fall season to start,. The color of my material will be great cause of you. Thank my lady and keep up the good work,
Really cool thanks for sharing. I have some super cute fabric but not enough to do anything with so adding the second fabric is perfect. Tysm for sharing!
You are a blessing! I haven't brought an overclock machine yet, but will sew this skirt before April. Everything I have learnt about sewing is from you and the book you recommended. Keep the tutorials coming - you really never know who you are inspiring xx
Inspired by your vlogs! I’m just starting out and looking for items to make. Will definitely try making this. Love it. Also have to add that my passion for buying fabrics is overwhelming, but love it - it’s like buying art (that might sound weird!) Getting tips on shopping for fabrics has been very useful. Thx
Hello Kim, thank you for the great video. Can you tell me if both the leather and printed fabric are twice the length of the waist or in total together should equal twice the length of waist?
This skirt looks AMAZING! ive rewatched what must be 100 times already. Ive been trying to make a skirt for a cosplay and your skirt is simlar to what i have to make as well so thank you! Its also a great learning video.
Looks like a thing I might attempt I have two quillt cottons showing birches, one in summer one in fall and I look for a way to use them, this might be it
Please i need help!!! I want to make this skirt and i already choosed fabric (old tablecloth) but i dont understand how much i will need. Is the total width of the fabrics 2x waist (1x pattern fabric 1x yellow fabric) or do you need 4x in total? I got extremely excited to make the skirt but now i am not sure if i will have enough fabric...
Hi, I’m making a skirt like this but the colors Im choosing are black and white, what color should I use for the hem thread? Also, what type of fabric did you use ?
I still don’t know how you put the zipper on there. Help!!!! I can’t finish my skirt UPDATE!!! I made the skirt and I followed the steps, but the skirt didn’t fit!!!! I’m not sure if I missed it, but there is no mention of hip measurements, it fit around my waist, but not on my booty, it looks horrible, it would fit perfectly if I had no ass or hips.
