This tutorial was a big help. I am making a baby quilt with a hidden pocket in one of the corners to put a special message in it for my future grandson.
I've seen a few videos on welt pockets and this is by far the clearest and makes the whole process so simple. He is precise and doesn't waffle. Excellent.
I so agree he doesn't waffle. If I am sewing and following a video I stop it at intervals and this is an ideal one. Others waffle on so much that I lose the plot and will to live. What a great video

I could have cried when I watched this. I've been struggling with a different method for sooo long and this is so straightforward. Much easier to understand with a clear demo too rather than trying to work out someone's badly written instructions. Tried it last night and all the stress of doing a pocket just rolled away. This is one of the best tutorial for welt pockets. I've been sewing for years and could never master this technique until I viewed this video. I have to admit, on my first try I was unsuccessful after my second attempt, I mastered it perfectly and was able to make a pair of trousers and they look off the rack. Thank you!!!!!

Thanks for this excellent tutorial. It's *very* slick - a bit *too* slick for a beginner such as myself - but then again, that's the beauty of You Tube, where you can re-run something as many times as you like!

Great vid. I've worked as a piece work.machinist, and now I make a lot of my own shirts and trousers, but I have never learned the welt pocket. Easy really, similar to a self bound buttonhole. Very clear guide, thanks!
