You made this so easy to understand and follow! I’m new to sewing & embroidery, and can rarely follow the speed of other videos. I am so excited to try this! I agree with the others who said your sewing room is precious! I really think it’s a beautiful space to create.
Thank you so much for this video! I just learned about these sashes yesterday! Your directions are super easy. Going to try one tomorrow! I was thinking maybe serging the pieces together.
Thank you so much for making this video. I could not find a good video that showed me how to make a sash with the embroidery and I followed what you did and it was wonderful and it turned out great So thank you so much for making this video.
Thank you so much I really appreciate your comment. The wonderful thing about the wreath sash is you can still make one to enjoy even without a monogram and it will still be just as beautiful!
I am not 100% sure but I think it is more of a broad cloth, closer to a canvas type. I have also used a velvet type material for one as well. A heavy weight cotton would work very well too.
I'm not sure which machine you are asking about in this video but if it's the embroidery machine that would be my Babylock Spirit. I love it to bits! It's an older model and is Embroidery only. I believe the new model is now called a Pathfinder. It has an 8x12 hoop as it's largest hoop. It runs (and always has) like a charm. My sewing machine is a Babylock Symphony it's older as well and is sewing only. I have recently added another flatbed combo sewing and embroidery machine to my room. It is a Babylock Destiny II. I highly recommend Babylock machines!
I wouldn't spray directly on the fabric. Once it gets on the fabric it is not easy to get it off. Spray lightly on the interfacing only, Iron on interfacing works so much better for me.
I just have a question. Could you just fold the fabric over 4.5 and sew one side seam? I know nothing about sewing so I sure there is a good reason Thank you
Well yes, I suppose you certainly could do it that way if you are fine with having a folded edge and a sewn edge. As I said I'm definitely no expert myself. LOL! I liked having both ends sewn as I felt like the weight of the fabric would be more evenly distributed on each side but that's just my own preference. 🙂
Hi Sharon! For this one, it was more like a broadcloth as that is what my cousin in law wanted. The first one I made for my home was made of a velvet type material. If you like the look of a broadcloth, I would recommend an indoor/outdoor fabric if you are going to put it outside. Lots of people use silk for these. Really you could use whatever you want. However if using a cotton fabric you may want to consider adding a fusible lining if the cotton is really thin. Would love to hear how yours turned out if you are making one.😍
Hi Laura, I’m not exactly sure as I’ve already packed up my my Christmas decor but I think it’s a 24 inch size. It’s definitely not smaller then that but could be slightly larger but not much more then 24. Hope this helps!
For the one I made in the video it was made of a canvas type broad cloth. I am not even sure what that fabric is called honestly its just some I had on hand that I got a bolt of a yardsale one day. My cousin in law wanted to use that style of fabric but I would suggest maybe using an indoor outdoor fabric if it's going outside. For the demo that I first made that is in my dining room that one is made of velvet.
