Thank you so much for your help on installing a zipper. I have been putting mine in the wrong way for years lol. Love your videos they sure help a lot.
Awww your nails make me want to go get mine done 😍😍. You were really helpful with this one, not that you weren’t helpful with your other videos. I’ve never tried sewing a zipper because when I sew thinner fabrics it bunches up and gets caught in my sewing machine and it makes me stop and come back later.
Love this method. I finally used it and it was the first time I had a flawless zipper install, meaning no 2nd and 3 rd attempts. Perfect the first try!!!
I liked the video. I do have a question about the bottom of the zipper. Should i sew across the bottom of the zipper or just straight down the sides of the zipper? Also how do i close the zipper if it is too long for the garment?
I don't have anything to put a zipper in right now, however, I'm going to get two pieces of fabric and practice this technique. Thank you so much Ms. Royalty!
HI Anita, could you show me how to install an exposed zipper where it does not go all the way to the bottom. For example: In a dress where it stops at the hips. Thank you❣
Hi, JoAnn's sell zippers for $20.00. I do my zippers the same. Just one question, that is I see a little wave in your zipper. I don't use pins because of that. I use temp. glue to hold it in place and get no wave. Try it on some scrap fabric and see it works girl friend. Love all your video's and I miss NYC, my home. Have fun sewing, later.
I shop at the same Store when I’m looking for a “standout” or very long zipper. They have great trimmings etc. thank you for the tutorial, top stitching always makes a garment Pop! 🤩👌🏽
I love this video because I currently just did an outfit and i needed to sew a zipper onto the outfit and this has helped me so much. Thank you and can you do a video on sewing buttons on to one pieces?
I was afraid you were going to say the zipper was sewn in incorrectly. I don't like that either when a bobbin runs out of thread in the middle of a project, lol. I always make sure I have more than one bobbin so when one bobbin empties I have another ready. Excellent job as always, Anita!
this zipper video is lovely and well understood. you are really doing a great job but my gowns fold at the zipper side especially gowns with a higher neckline, without under burst cut, half length cut or what have you..... pls help on how to sew my gowns without it creasing at the zipper side mid -lenght.
You have done a beautiful job! I have a few questions. After sewing the zipper on, did you machine sew, over the bottom ends of the zipper tracks, to stop the zipper pull from sliding off the track? And for the left over zipper ends(the ends that wasn't sewn to the dress)did you cut that part off? I just want to make sure I'm doing it right. Hope this makes sense. Thank you.
Yes so to answer your question I do my zippers this way then I zipper up the zipper towards the top cut off the bottom and then I will hand so or tack the remaining and then I will then get the bottom of the train and sell it together
@@classicroyaltydesignsanita7294 Thank you so much for the information, I truly appreciate that, I'm happy now.. And one last thing, if the dress and the separating zipper are the same length at the end, can I keep it as is, like a zip up jacket? Instead of sliding into the dress, just put it on, and have someone zip the dress up. Would that look right? Ex. A midi dress with boa trim at the end of skirt.... Instead of the boa going all the way around, it will stop at both ends of the zipper ends. Thank you a million ☺️
Hello Anita. Great video install. I just found this video cause I'm doing a sequin dress and have to sew in a zipper. You mention elastic bias tape?? Did you use the bias tape to close the edge of the fabric and then apply the zipper? I can't tell from video where the bias tape is. I have a lining with this zipper. Thanks for your help.
@@classicroyaltydesignsanita7294 I tried sewing the zipper on dragon scale sequin and it is all wavy. The cut edge of netting is so raggedy because of the sequin and it's driving me crazy. So I understand why you use the bias tape. Makes sense. I can tell you love what you do and it shows. Thanks again for the reply and sharing.
Hi, please What wat causes the zipper area puffy after getting sewn? I have difficulty put a normal zipper. Please can you do a tutorial if you haven't done one. Thanks a lot
