I love how thorough and descript you are! An absolutely wonderful change from most of the sewing videos that I've watched. Keep 'em coming! 👍👍👍 Btw, where did you get that cool pattern weight? Do you sell them?
Let me see if I can make this question make sense - haha. I'm working on my first sloper. When I make the muslin as shown in the video and make adjustments for fit, do I make those changes on the actual sloper? That way the next time I make a bodice, it will fit correctly? Seems like if I only make the changes on the paper pattern, every time I make something, I'll have to tailor. Thank you!
I am a very unusual shaped female. and store-bought clothes never fit me never. so I am following your videos, and find them very interesting and very helpful. would love to take your drafting class over zoom or Google me or something. Is that possible?
Happy to help. Yes you can take lessons over zoom. You can sign up here anastasiachatzka.com/collections/private-lessons/products/virtual-private-sewing-lessons-1
I’m a little confused at 15:56 when you are transferring the new seam onto the bodice. In the video you place the muslin all the way to the edge of the paper. Shouldn’t you align it to the pattern line and not to the edge of the seam allowance?
So glad I found your channel. I love how open you are to teaching us every little step. I feel confident that I could actually make my very own Sloper pattern now. You're a great teacher.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you found my channel helpful and that you feel confident in making your own Sloper pattern. Keep up the great work!
I am so thankful for your very detailed video. I have now taken all my wife’s measurements and about to create the slopes bodice and pattern. However will I still need to do an FBA?
This is such a positive video! I'm a plus size and have difficulty buying anything (including patterns) that fits. I'm also short. Use decided to make my own over time. I need to get a few basic blocks or slopers and have a few custom outfits that fit. I'm experienced at sewing and believe i can do this. I want to lose weight in the process so I'll make and adjust as I go. Knowing how will give me my own personal patterns and confidence. Clothes that fit alwsys look good.
Thanks for sharing your experience! It's great to hear that you're taking matters into your own hands and creating custom outfits that fit you perfectly. Keep up the positive attitude and confidence!
This is so great. I am really excited to see what other videos you do in this series. Are you planning on showing us how to make looser clothes with these skin tight measurements? I'm not fully sure how that works. Or should I make a bigger sloper? I would also love to see how we can take our measurements and make adjustments to existing sewing patterns. For example widening the shoulders. I have learnt so much from these videos, thank you.
You use the sloper to make loser clothes! Don’t make your sloper bigger. I will start using the sloper in videos to make designs. I do have a video on making a home sewing pattern fit by measuring. I put it out a few months ago. Take a look for it.
Thank you for you for your videos! I’m new to sewing and teaching myself. With many frustrating bodice samples from old bed sheets to getting used to the ruler slipping to figuring out how to correctly measure myself, your videos have been heaven sent! Thank you for making these and putting it on a public platform!
