For thicker leathers, I actually use a walking foot heavy duty machine. This particular Juki machine is handling leathers I am demonstrating on, which is soft lamb Nappa anything thicker is damaging machine. But saying that, it really varies from machine to machine. Let me know how did it go for you with foam.
I liked what you demonstrated! Is this good for commercial sewing machines? Can I use these tips on a Jenome sewing machine?? And can I use faux leather with these tips? I want so much to work with leather!!
No I never used rubber feed dogs on this machine as for my professional work I have heavy duty walking foot machine. But if I'm at somewhere else (often working for other companies) usually there are regular sewing machines and then I use techniques I showed in this video. Machine in this video is 8700. Good luck with your projects.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. It might straggle. For thick leather, I would recommend walking foot industrial machine. On my videos (apart of domestic machine video) I used only walking foot machine.
