Hello, Marlon, Thank you for writing. I retired six years ago, but I still thoroughly enjoy the craft. Hearing from folks like you really makes my day. I'd love to see some of your successes: if you'd like to share photos and/or construction details, please write to me at littlebug903@yahoo.com. I'd love to hear from you again. Sincerely, Peg
Newbie to the sewing game and deciding to take on some automotive upholstery for my first project. Probably a bit much for most but I’m a quick learner and a perfectionist. So glad I came across this video because hiding the original stitch in the piping I made myself was a little more than frustrating. Did this way and worked fantastic. Thanks a bunch!
Hi Peg ! I am on a marathon of all your videos I just love how clear and to the point your instructions are ! I am new at sewing, can't wait to make the box cushion !!! Please make more videos !!! Thank you for sharing :)
Hello Peg, Thanks for the tutorial. Now I know how to sew a perfect corner without the bulk. I can't believe you made it so easy for us to follow and I can't wait to make some pillows! Thank you so much!!
Hi Amy, I'm looking forward to seeing the final results. If you'd like to share photos you can send them to my email address: littlebug903@yahoo.com. Thanks so much for your kind comments, Peg
Thanks very much Peg! I made my first pillows today (for inside) using videos from a different web site. Your videos are much clearer and I am confident I can complete the patio pillows I'm planning. With zippers and piping; thanks to you. I'm a novice and really appreciate having access to experts like you.
Margret L I'm glad your pillow project was a success! I'd love to see them all when you are done. If you'd like to share photos, please send them to my email address: littlebug903@yahoo.com. I'm happy that my videos were helpful, but in the end, Margaret, it's you doing the work, seeing it through and building your confidence as a result. Bravo! Sincerely, Peg
This is a fantastic idea! I can't believe I never thought of that. I do have those extra stitches that show whenever I do cording so this is a great preventative measure. Thanks! It was a very relaxing video too!
Peg, so professional, clear and well described - what an efficient, economical method. Loved your whole production, the focussed well-lit image, your clear reassuring voice. I'd feel confident to try this now. So many folks chunter on, but you planned and trimmed your script to the essentials. So clarifying, I've subscribed. Thanks!
walshamite Thank you for writing! Please stay in touch; I'd love to hear about your piping projects. You can write to me with details and photos at littlebug903@yahoo.com. Best wishes! Peg
Great video. You make everything seem easy. Thanks to your 'Little Striped Cushion' videos I covered and piped ten large cushions for my conservatory furniture. Keep up the good work! Thank you!
I love this method. Most others have the piping crossing over itself and I just felt like there had to be a better, more beautiful way...and this is it!
Thank you, Collette, for your kind comment. Occasionally I revert to the former method. I'm currently working on a large slipcover order using heavier upholstery fabric. By time I'm through I will have used 40-50 yards of piping. That can be very fatiguing after a while, so I decided to pre-sew my piping, which made the job faster and less tiring. I still like to join the piping ends by sewing them together: a little more time, but well worth the effort. I hope you will stay in touch. I'd love to hear about your piping projects. You can share photos and details in an email to littlebug903@yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from you! Sincerely, Peg. www.littlebugslipcovers.com
Jean, Thanks for letting me know how this worked for you! Including the boxing in the process is a real time saver; I can't seem to get as neat a result, so I sew the boxing on last. Whatever the process, it's always helpful to try alternatives! Happy Sewing, Peg
Dear Kathleen, I am happy to hear that my little tutorial has inspired you to try your own project! As you go through the process I'd love to hear about it! Thank you Peg for your easy instructional video on putting piping on a pillow and how to incorporate it all together. This was my first project and it turned out great with your detailed instructions. My friend will love the pillows. Can’t wait more more videos.

When I first watched this video and the 3 on sewing a pillow with piping and a zipper, I thought you made it look too easy. I was scared but it was easier than I had imagined. I have made 5 pillows in a week and they all came out great. I am a beginner sewer. The hardest part is cutting the fabric into a square. I love your videos. Thanks!
fabulous advice. great filming and very pleasant to watch. straight to the point and got right to it. Thanks so much. imma gonna go home and sew!! Thanks.

I sewed when I was a kid, and I only have the sewing machine my dad gave me for my 16th birthday. I love it, but it isn't nearly as smooth as that magic machine you have! I'm terrified to start an upholstery project, but may do so with the help of your videos!
Hello, Natalie, Thank you for writing! I'm glad you still have the machine that your dad gave you; often, the older machines can handle heavier fabrics very well. If you're not sure, take your machine into a repair shop for a thorough maintenance check. A clean and well oiled machine is a dream to sew with. Make sure you use the appropriate needles for the job you want to do. When you are ready, try making something simple (like this pillow) is a heavier fabric. I hope this advice is helpful. Please let me know how you are doing. You can write to me at littlebug903@yahoo.com. Sincerely, Peg

Thank you! Under 5 minutes, and one of the best piping tutorials. Don't know how I got here, but on my way to dig out that cording to give it try...again :-)

Hi Peg: I did my first piping project using your video. It came out great. Okay, it took about 10 minutes to go all around the project (I made an ottoman cover) because I took my time. But it was worth the effort! Thanks again!

Hello, Craig, Thank you for writing and sharing your thoughts and experiences. Videos do tend to make any new process look easy. I imagine you can make your craft look easy, too. Self-taught individuals are fortunate to be driven by an inner force. Being open to someone else's process is humbling but necessary to improve. It sounds like you're on the right track. Best wishes for continuing success in your business! Sincerely, Peg

Thank you so very much! I was doing piping on a cushion today & realized with a bit of panic that I had no idea how I was going to handle the corners! And now, thanks to you, I do! I have subscribed so I don't find myself in any other messes down the line! ♥

Thanks Peg. It definitely was a help as I said. It's funny what you will forget over time & I just sat there staring at the piping & thinking 'I know this'...but it wasn't coming...lol! I will definitely show you the cushions once done. I normally make classic teddy bears etc, but they don't require piping...huh!
+Kathleen Wells Hi Kathleen, I'm so glad to hear that my little tutorial has been helpful. Please stay in touch: I'd love to hear more about your sewing projects. Thanks so much for your kind words. Sincerely, Peg
Hi Peg, Thanks for a wonderful tutorial!!! I'm working on some pillows with some piping as well as thick two layered throw blanket for the end of my bed with piping as well!! You really helped me to visualized it now!! Love it!! Blessings!!
Hi Lori, Your project sounds lovely! Bedding can be especially challenging due to the amount of yardage involved. I'd love to see photos when you're done. My email address is: littlebug903@yahoo.com. Best wishes! Peg

Thanks for these comments! I have used a welting foot (or "channel" foot) in videos in the past. I found that not all home sewers (my target audience) were able to find this foot for their machines. You are right, though: the welt foot provides a tighter stitch especially with upholstery fabrics.
So glad you like this one, Karen! I'd love to see your project using this technique. If you'd like to share photos, please feel free to send them to my email address: littlebug903@yahoo.com. Sincerely, Peg
Wow! This is so much easier than 1. sew the piping closed, 2. baste into place 3. sew into place. I think I'll be taking on more piping projects now that I've found this.
Deanna Garneau Hi, Deanna, Thank you for your kind comment! I'm so glad my little tutorial was helpful. Please keep me in mind when you start that next piping project. I'd love to hear about it. You can send details and photos to my email address littlebug903@yahoo.com. Happy Sewing! Peg

Excellent! So you have a Juki, good to know. At some point when I have space and money I shall get one too. I never knew there was a special piping foot! Amazing.
What a fantastic tutorial! Thanks so much for making it. Subscribed! Haven't used a sewing machine in years and I was given a beautiful new Singer as a wedding present - can't wait to use it! Thanks again for these great videos!
Hi Noma, Congratulations on your new marriage! Getting a new sewing machine is wonderful, especially for home decor sewing. So many lovely things can be made that are actually fairly simple to do. Please stay in touch; I'd love to hear about your first project! Sincerely, Peg

Hi Cathy, I use 5/16" cording most of the time, but any size up to 1/2" can be used on a throw pillow. Even larger sizes can be used, but one would consider proportion as an important element. I've used smaller sizes as well, but 5/16" is what I keep in stock for slipcovers, pillows and cushion work. Thanks for writing! Peg
Dear Karen, I hope my little tutorial has inspired you to try your own pillow project! As you go through the process I'd love to hear about it! I'm here to answer any questions you may have along the way. You can share details and photos at my email address: littlebug903@yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from you! Thank you, Peg, for your reply. I am working on box cushions with piping and, while I've done this type of project and pillows quite a few times, I have never been able to master the art of the piping join. I've watched other youTube videos, without success, but something about the way you shared your knowledge clicked with me. Your technique has also helped me to get the box sizing just perfect on this project. Thank you, again, I'll be happy to share some photos!
Wow, love this video! I'm new to sewing and am making a nursery bedding set for my daughter, who is due with her first child in April. I will be using this application for piping, thanks so much!
Hello, Diane, Thanks so much for writing. I hope you found this piping application as easy as it looks. Let me know of you have any questions. Sincerely, Peg
