Thank you so much for this tutorial, I've been having trouble with adding pockets and zippers. The way you explain tasks makes it easy to learn. Big plus just love your dress fabric, it's so pretty.
Thank you! I'm working on my daughter's 5th birthday dress and the multi-layer dress pattern had no pockets, now I know how to add them. Your princess dress is beautiful and amazing. Again, thank you so much!
I am full of awe. Despite taking every zip-insertion class going, I've never got the hang of putting zips into even one layer, let alone multiple layers,
This is a very useful video, thank you! A lot of directions for multi-layer items seem to want you to just put pockets (if any) and zippers in the base layer & just leave the floaty layers free on top & trust them to hide your pocket or zipper.
@@LadyRebeccaFashions Agreed! I'm currently working on a 1780's dress where none of that applies (pockets are separate, no zippers, you know the drill), but I will be working on a lined stretch velvet dress with a couple of invisible zippers. I won't have the extra pretty floofy layers issue, but I will have the couple of layers (probably with stiff cording in the skirt lining) with one fussy layer issue, so quite a few of those tips will come in handy. 😊
I only ever buy the longest zippers now, I just shorten them if I'm doing a side zip or a skirt. I'll just pick up handfuls of them when they're on sale at Joann's in the colors that I use the most. Also, before I put a zipper in a waist seam, I smash the places where the seams join with a flat headed rubber mallet. Works great and is VERY satisfying.
Started this video with my daughter (3) sitting next to me and she said "mommy who is this princess dress?... its Elsa's dress!" So i might be on the hook to sew her a tiny version. 😂
