Experienced seamster here, that’s the absolute perfect way of sewing a good looking tab! Pretty darn easy too. I’m going to share like crazy because there are too many funny looking tabs out there lol
Thank you. Appreciate this coming from you. I’m all about getting that professional finish with easies method. And yes lots of questionable looking tabs out there!
You saved my sanity! I was struggling with making a zipper tab and was ready to throw the whole thing out. I though there has to be a better way and starting looking. That is when I found your video. Thank you! =
All your videos are very informative and your explanations are understandable and always helpful ❤…..thank you for your expertise and helpful advice…..very much appreciated ❤
You made both of them look so easy. Right now I don't know when I will need to do this; but, now I have a better idea of how to do it. These tabs will look nice on the zipper in the top of a hand bag.
I have been sewing for 55 years. I have watched tons of sewing tutorials over the years and I am amazed and impressed with each and every video you put up. I have an embroidery machine and would also appreciate any tutorials on how you use an embroidery machine. I also have an industrial machine and have a bunch of trouble trying to figure out how to use the specialized binding foots that come with it. Keep these awesome videos coming! I especially would love to learn how to add a lace edging with my embroidery machine to the edge of towels.:)
Thanks so much Laurie! I rarely use any special feet on my industrial machines. If I have to add binding, I just do with regular foot. As for embroidery , I don’t do it ………yet. I have been gifted one so may take you along with my journey to learn how to use. I have also been sewing for many many years. Clothing alterations is my specialty but also have done years of evening, bridal, leather wear etc so with these small projects, I like to show how to get better results with my methods. Thanks for watching. Please have a look at my Skillshare classes as well. Links are in the description. Cheers!
I thought something like this would be a no brainer yet I just spent an embarrassing about of time trying to do it myself, my way. After throwing my hands up I came across your video and it's soooo easy!! Thank you, very simple :)
Great verbal and video instruction; all too often video tutorial photos/videos are obstructed by hands or sewing machine and/or presser feet. Off to check out your other videos!
Please share this with all your Bag Making friends! How do you sew your zipper tab ends? Be sure to watch my other method of sewing zipper tab ends ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8Ovd1-bCoD0.html
Hi Angela ! Hope you’re doing well …. Much more restrictions here in Canada ☹️ omicron everywhere. This finish is so neat…always perfect 👍. You’re the best teacher. 👏🏻👏🏻 Have to stop sewing for a bit until Spring cause work is crazy for next 100 days. I watch out for your notifications cause it’s fun to watch your channel🥰 . Stay safe ! Thanks for the sewing technique 🙏🏻🙏🏻.
For some reason I thought you lived in Paris??? But you’re a Canuck! I’m originally from Toronto. Grew up there. Now in Australia. I talk to my best friend in Canada regularly so know how bad it is there right now. Hope your next 100 days go smoothly and Spring will come around sooner rather than later for you. Thanks again for your support!
@@NotchesSewing : yes ! I’m a Canuck ! 😁😁 You are too ! I thought maybe you might be when I listen to your accent .Oh, you moved half way across the world and you’re in summer now. I am planning to make your zipper cushion during my stress relief breaks. Sewing can be therapeutic when someone shows you how to make something beautiful.
Lovely and clear video! Will this method also work for vinyl or faux leather zipper end tabs for a bag? If not, is there another method you would recommend?
Lovely Video, can't wait to try it! I just had a quick question; if the project says 20cm zipper, should I cut the zipper to 20cm exactly, or should I cut it to less to allow for the extra length of the tab? (Hope that makes sense: very new to sewing!)
I want the inside of tab to have as much zip tape as possible so it is strong and has more body but can’t be all the way to the bottom as it is harder to stitch across edges to close.
