I matched easily. I was on a serious mission for Jackie's foundation. Lol. The Sephora workers probably thought I was crazy how serious I was. The foundation matched so freaken well I was like this is MY FACE. THANK YOU JACKIE.
I am Latina, I won"t be buying a foundation from too faced bc I'm broke, but I do enjoy an African-American woman being successful, I support you by watching your videos as they are fun and informative. Congrats Jackie, now go for suncreen collabs😉😁🤞
Jackie!!!!! I just need you to know your hair blonde has me thinking I might be straight! You’re looking so beautiful. I hope you have a wonderful, beautiful, and flawless weekend ♥️🏳️🌈
Dear Too Faced, I've never bought your brand. Why? Well, I never felt that you cared at all about diversity. While my foundation shade would be your lightest shade available I didn't see any tones in the darker shades. I am simply not interested in a company that isn't interested in women of all shades. Your collab with Jackie for me is a commitment to include ALL women and men in your product range. I see it as a promise to us that all of your products will be available for ALL of us. This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship! I'm excited to finally use the products that are so iconic. But, I really want you to look at your staff and your interns. I've seen the photo on your page. You need diversity within your walls, not just within our wallets, ok? You need to prove to us that you really mean it. That we all count. Give all of us a voice.
I got emotional watching this video. Thank you for pushing so hard and being such a strong advocate for women of color, especially black women. Your voice has been a powerful one for the black community in the beauty industry, and we are so proud! ❤️
I am like the palest person on earth but I watch yours and Nyma’s videos religiously and I am 100% behind making a brand inclusive. I struggle in the other direction, nothing light enough is the right undertone (I’ve stopped wearing foundation because of it and only have two concealers that work), but I know my struggles definitely do not compare. You are strong and beautiful and standing for something that needs to be talked about and changed. That melanin is STUNNING and should be celebrated 🙌 even though my shade isn’t any that you created, I may pick up this foundation just to show support for this company’s good move.
I struggle in the other direction and Fenty didn’t have a yellow toned foundation pale enough for my pasty self. I’m so happy for everyone who can now wear born this way now though! I still don’t have a color but I’m happy seeing themore inclusive shades. Especially from aunty Jackie!
Finally, returned to Sephora for my shade and I must say that it was truly BEAUTIFUL to see the new shade range with all the deep rich colors. I'm so proud of Jackie! This is a big moment of women of color world wide. Thank you!!
Jackieeee, i work at ELC (Estée Lauder companies) Too Faced’s parent company so I get discounts on the Too Faced products if I buy it from our employee site. But imma buy it from the link your provided cause I always gotta support black women killin it for the culture! Congrats, love!! 👸🏾💕🌟
VERY happy that they actually decided to get a black woman to create shades for black and other ethnic women. I just hope Too Faced as a brand continues to create original product ideas as opposed to everything they have been regurgitating this past year. BTW you look STUNNING 😍
Sooo went to Ulta and tried Chai and Spiced Rum and I have to say Im in strong like. I bought Chai but will be going back for Spiced rum both work for me. I may even add the concealer and the setting powder just have to see how my coints run. The shades are very beautiful!!! Thank u Jackie
Jackie Aina loves black women!! Always advocating for dark skin. I absolutely love it. I don’t think this foundation is available in my country though 🇿🇦
I got so much anxiety when you swatched foundations on your chest, scarily close to that very very white tank top!!! I just hope it doesn’t get on that shirt! Hehe love you Jackiiieeee ❤️❤️
Jackie this is beyond incredible I’m so proud to follow someone who not only speaks out about being inclusive but you made an ACTION that backed your words. This is so important and I love it.
You are and have truly changed the standard of beauty on tutorial at a time! I’m am BEYOND proud of you and I pray you continue to excel in your calling which is everything beauty and advocating for all types of beautiful. Thank you. THANK YOU. Speaking out against the grain is not for the weak or faint of heart but for changers and barrier breakers that take the criticism and throw it away and keeps on speaking up about what no one else had the balls to say. Thank you again! And congrats on this milestone in your career!
Ms Jackie.... Have you not learned anything from your subscribers over ALL THESE YEARS? They/We trust those who have proven trustworthy.... This is something you’ve earned love 😊💚
watching this made me feel emotional. Never before have i see you look this flawlessly natural its just something about it. You look different in a good way. can't wait to try it
this hair and top and jewellery!! yesss! (you look like you're about to step on your porch that faces the beach and a jackie-version of "love don't cost a thing" by jlo is about to start)
I have to visit Spiced Rum as well! Chai is great on me (I stinkin' love it). But, I've been in the pool heavy lately, and I know that I am only gonna get deeper from here until around October. My face is golden in the center (as well as my chest), and the rest of my body is a bit deeper (with red tones). So, a second shade with this amazing formula and color match is super ideal! It pairs well with L.A. Girl Concealer (shade: Fawn or Toffee). It's super hydrating, but it isn't oily. The best part is that my face doesn't feel dry, heavy, or greasy afterward. It's a very "natural" looking formula and IT DOES NOT OXIDIZE!!!! Thank you for these WONDERFUL extensions. I can't say it enough! ❤️ My shade is CHAI. In other brands I wear: MAC: NC50 (studio sculpt) Maybelline Fit Me: 338, 350 (corrector) Cover FX: N90, N 100 (mixed) LA Girl Pro Concealer: Warm Honey, Fawn or Toffee I hope this helps someone! UPDATE: I went and got Spiced Rum. It is gorgeous, but it is a bit deeper and a bit more warmer ( just a bit). It COULD work for me, but I observed quite a change in my overall complexion (which I'm comfy with but it isn't ideal). Chai works for me and I will make sure to bronze in the summer as my complexion deepens. Chai is the perfect base AKA foundation. Any who, I tried SPICED RUM on my mother who is normally MAC: NW45 (like everybody else) or Maybelline Fit Me: 360 Coconut. She is golden in the chest area and in the center of her face but very warm everywhere else. SPICED RUM worked very well for her. She loves it. WE LOVE IT! I paired it with LA GIRL CONCEALER in TOFFEE, LAURA MERCIER MEDIUM TO DEEP TRANSLUCENT POWDER, and LA BRONZE HIGHLIGHTER and they are gorgeous matches for her! I wish RU-vid would let us post videos or pictures in the comments. This match is so good that I have to show you guys! Summary: My mom is SPICED RUM: In other brands she wears: MAC: NW45 Maybelline FIt Me: 360 LA Girl Pro Concealer: Toffee POINT BLANK: CHAI IS GOLDEN ALL YEAR ROUND. SPICED RUM IS WARM ALL YEAR ROUND. YOU CAN MAKE THEM BOTH WORK. BUT GO FOR YOUR UNDERTONE, IMO. Again, I hope this helps!
GrowWithTomi how helpful! i would love if Jackie would pin this comment and if everyone who brought born this way would do their shade reference in other foundations to help other buyers out 💕
GrowWithTomi you’ll like it. Spiced Rum is chocalety goodness. I get red undertone when I tan, so it matches well. If you stay yellow when tan, it might be too red.
I LOVE this foundation and I have SUPER oily skin, I have found it is the only foundation to last on my oily skin and still look beautiful! I love this foundation so much more now after your collab and the expansion on the shade range! congratulations!
Although I am dang near pasty white, my best friend is Jamaican and she is the one who taught me about different undertones for WOC. I am SO HAPPY to see these colors. Thank you!!!💖
This is all truth! I have pretty bad acne scars but it covers it beautifully and just shows how smooth my skin is, not how blemished it is and I love it!! 💕💕
One pump literally is all you need and it blows my mind! My go to foundation was makeup forever liquid foundation and I have been using it for 2 years and I think it has replaced it 😳
I am praline and I just purchased it today! Thank you so much for making a shade that's not orange or gray in tone! It feels good to wake up and not have to mix foundations.
Hey Jackie! Maybe you can talk to someone about the fact that the Sephora here in Saskatoon Canada doesn’t have even one of your toofaced collab products. It’s so upsetting! The very same thing you’re trying to change, is continuing at the Sephora here. They don’t cater to dark skinned women a lot. Case in point, when fenty dropped the body lava they only brought the lighter shade, but not the one for darker skin.
I'd tag Too Faced and Sephora on social media (girl they hate that). They are usually QUICK to remedy the situation. I'd also tag the Too Faced owner Jerrod also.
I’m able to pick out two makeup colours for my skin tone, based on your colour swatching. So thank you! For speaking up for us dark skinned sisters!!! Hope to one day see your own brand come to the forefront.
Thank you Jackie. I am white, but my sisters are adopted and have dark skin and I know they will appreciate you working so hard for the general population ❤️❤️
I feel like the work you do is so important. I’m not a darker skin tone, I would say I’m more medium with a strong yellow undertone. I have horribly dry skin and the Born This Way line including the powder and foundation is the only thing that works for me. It’s the only foundation formula that hasn’t clung to my dryness and it boosted my confidence immensely. The fact you could widen the shade range so that formula can reach more people is just heart warming. I love you so much keep doing what you’re doing ❤️
I love that she let us know when she said there is a link in the description to buy it that will benefit her. Great to see a beauty Influenster being honest🙂
How is this video under 3 minutes old and there's ALREADY one or two dislikes? People be some real haters man 😠 It don't even matter, my Aunty Jackie getting money just from them clicking on this video to dislike it. They really out here wasting their energy
Thank you Jackie!!! I went to the store to buy it (its not in the UK, specifically Birmingham just yet) literally sent my fella in london today to pick it up from Carnaby street Too faced store!! Have to get it for my wedding day - you literally have the fate of my wedding pics in your hands... but I know Imma look bomb (as long as he gets the right shade!) thank you for advocating for the dark skin beauts x Peace, love and blessings to you... always xoxoxo
Thank you so much for this Jackie! I have been watching your videos from the beginning and you taught me how to do my makeup and which colours to get for WOC. Thank you for continuing to create a space for us in this beauty community and making it easier for us!
Can I just say THANK YOU for finally giving better choices for us brown girls. I was able to hunt down my shade but out here in Georgia the launch isn’t going well 😫😩😢 so I’m patiently putting the makeup line together! So when I get it together I hope to enjoy your hard work. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I just went to sephora two days ago to swatch and get my exact tone for this born this way foundation. I was between cocoa and mocha. I bought the mocha but decided to get the cocoa through Jackie. I absolutely love this foundation! Blends like a second skin.
This hair is SO GORGEOUS on you Jackie 😍 so proud of you for making this foundation range, I feel like a lot of brands/ beauty creators that have have their own make up lines usually try to steer away from foundation as it's hard to get right and can easily not be the correct colour for some of their customers. Things like lipstick and eye shadows are easier to appeal to everyone that foundations. But you have made a collection that seems to match just about everyone, a true gradient of skin tones! Sick of so many brands putting 4 goddamn darker shades in their collections, it's bullshit and it's time we focus on covering all darker skin tones, not just adding some general dark shades and excluding a HUGE range of skin tones and customers, like you have done with this collab! ❤️
I'm getting more and more Hyped about this foundation! The most youthful foundation finish for me is Bridal, and Spring and Summer that is my goal every application. And I really feel like this is going to give me what I need! I will be watching this video again to be as sure as I can, what my shade is because I'm definitely buying it! I'm not willing to imagine how good this foundation is anymore, I Want it in my FACE! Ok let me calm down. Again, excellent job Jackie!
I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday and I’m on lots of pain meds and your voice is so relaxing when you’re explaining the differences between the shades that I keep falling asleep.
Just moved to Florida from Nevada and I noticed a huge difference in my tone. My makeup makes me look ghostly now. The chart & your video helps ALOT when it comes to finding the perfect undertone. I’m so freakin grateful for this breakdown. The link is there in the description and I’ll be using it to show my appreciation. LITERALLY THE LEAST I CAN DO!! Literally I’m already here so why not!?
I’m soooo proud of you. Since I’ve been following your channel I have learned so much but the main thing I admire you always kept it real when it came to diversity. There are products I own because of you but it’s nice to see someone use their platform to do great things for others. Do your thing and I look forward to your line coming out.
I’m in the Bahamas and I’m finally in possession of my Born this way foundation. This was no small feat, sorry I couldn’t get it from Two Face. But I’m looking forward to trying it.
