at about 7:40 in the video when you put the cover back on. I'm trying to do this with the exact same saw except that metal brake band in the cover wont fit back over the clutch drum on the inside and I cant get it back together. It looks so easy when you do it, what am I doing wrong?

It's not always easy I just got lucky that time. Make sure the brake is off. That can be the problem sometimes. Make sure nothing is blocking is from seating in place. Line up the 2 bolt holes and the tighten screw. Sometimes you have to play with it a bit wiggle it around. Sounds like your brake is on though. It's kinda tough taking the brake off when it's disassembled, but it can be done. Let me know how it went. I'm sure you'll get it on. How do you like the saw. I love mine. Starts up every time and cuts like a champ. Just make sure you clean and sharpen her. I hope you found the video helpful. I have more videos on this saw to be coming soon.

Cullins Service I think there is a problem with the spring on the brake. I took it apart and to put that spring in with the brake engaged so the spring would be at it's most relaxed state, it's still incredibly tense to the point where the spring is bowing up. The brake was definitely engaged, but I looked on Echo's website for a solution and for issues with a brake or a clutch, that I need to take it to a dealer. I wonder about cutting a quarter of an inch off the spring to see if that would work. As far as the saw goes, I like it for what it is. It's great in the yard for branches but on the farm there are times when I wish I had one that's a little bigger. I may get an 18 inch or so one day but I've got to learn to maintain them. That's kind of why I seek out RU-vid videos.

So you disengaged the brake and it still wouldn't go on. I can't see the spring having that problem. Is there something blocking part of the cover? Are you lining up the bolts and tighten screw? When you are trying to put it on try and look into the saw where the brake and clutch meet. Try it w/ the brake engaged and disengaged you might be trying it backwards. I will have more videos soon on chainsaw maintenance like tuneups. Some people like husquvarna, but I have a 21 inch 450 rancher. It's a hard start and takes a bit of warming up to get going and It doesn't cut that great. Stay w/ echo or go with a stihl if your going to go bigger.

Cullins Service I haven't tried it yet but I'm pretty sure I could get it back on with the brake completely disabled. The problem is when I put the spring back in, there is so much tension that I cant release the brake.

There should be no problem w/ your saw. When the brake cover is off it's just really hard to disengage the brake, but It will disengage. It may help if you put it in a vise.
