How to Sharpen Hoof Knives

isn't the reason the hoof knife has a hook is for protection? Particularly in case the horse suddenly moves so the tip of that knife doesn't cause a puncture wound. It seems dangerous taking that important safety feature off. Its there for a reason. I hope you or the horse you are working on never have such an accident, but remember murphys law.
