Saw you on Shark Tank this evening and then went down the "shaving geeks" rabbit hole. Lol... lots of great reviews on your razors quality, style, and most importantly the shave! I've been wanting to try a SE razor for a while because of the irritation I get on my neck when I shave. I'm going to put this on my Christmas list and see if I get lucky since it's right around the corner! Congratulations on getting the deal with Robert and hopefully your razor will work for me once I get my hands on one!
Once I changed the blade ,and found the right setting it works great takes some practice gets better each time I use it I actually look forward to Shaving.
Wow! Thanks for showing me how to use this! This is great! Now I can’t wait to switch to you guys!! Thanks for making a single blade shave like they used to use in barber shops!!😍🥰
Design looks awesome. Will definitely buy when available in Pakistan. Patrick brought up in the right way, doesn't keeps the tap running while shaving saving loads of water. If the founder is so ethically correct , their product will also be environmentally friendly.
Hi Patrick. I just received my new Single Edge 2.0 from Rituels up here in Canada. I haven’t even had a chance to use it. I ordered it with the stand and it looks great. I can hardly wait to use it tomorrow morning. Thanks for the video because I was wondering about the blade angle when shaving. I would like to see more, perhaps with tips and tricks and product info on any new products you bring out.
I ordered your razor and much to my dismay after reading so many positive reviews had the worst Shave since I started shaving. There is no info on your website on how to return it for a refund. I have sent an email requesting this but have yet to receive information.
Nice demonstration, thank you. I wonder if the base plate engages securely (cannot be made to slide sideways) onto the head before inserting the screw? Thank you.
I just purchased this razor and received it today...I love it, it is my first SE razor. I have a rally hard beard with sensitive skin, I used medium setting and boy it is a close shave. I will practice with your suggestions...thank so much. a lifetime razor! I will be interested to see how long a blade can last on my face as I think long term this is actually more cost effective than purchasing quad blades. cheers
Actually their prices for blades are pretty competitive with the open market of SE and DE blades. The handle takes injector-style blades too, it's not proprietary. So you can use SE injector blades on it to save costs, or if you find another blade that works better for you. Which is one of of the things that makes me want to try this razor. I currently wet shave with a DE razor, so mainly I want to see how this thing works as a potential recommendation to those who have shaved with cartridges all their lives.
I’m using Gillette Proglide cartridge razors and they are by far the most comfortable and closest shave I have ever had. I have hard/tough beard hairs and shave every second day. For a comfortable shave, I have to replace my cartridge after 3 shaves. If I don’t, I will basically tear my face apart. So, when I hear statements about blades that last for 6 months or “a 3 month supply” this really says nothing to me. I would first like to know beard type and with what type of blade or shaver you are comparing. I have tried a DE blades, they were terrible. I also tried a quality single edge blade (in a Japanese style blade holder) without success. As for shaving products, these are very personal and I have yet to come across a shaving system that works best with its own branded shaving cream or foam for everyone. I am willing to try your product and report back on it.
Agreed; the main reason I bought this was due to the alleged longevity of the blades. Other than not finding the angle (Merkur DE user here) and lacerating my chin something fierce it's really easy to roll the edge on the blade while installing. I had to loosen the guile one-quarter turn, insert the guide and push up slightly so the edge of the razor wouldn't ride on the blade stops. Learning curve, cost, and pain in the ass factor resulted in me using Supply's "keep it for a partial refund" and transitioned to Defender (much less expensive, great for shower shaving and no cuts or ingrown hair).
It definitely is, I don't have this razor in particular but I have many like it and they work very well for head shaves. Check out my channel if you get a chance, I shave my head with all kinds of razors.
I shaved my head with my Merkur 34c on a dare once. While I've never done it with a cartridge for comparison, it worked surprisingly well once I trimmed my hair to a manageable length using the clippers. Main thing is to mind the angle, don't apply pressure, and get the skin as flat and level as possible, pulling on it using the fingers of your other hand if you need to. I imagine the supply razor will be much of the same way.
Just received my V2 Black Alloy today. Is the factory installed plate the Medium? Found that I had to make several more passes that a competitors plastic version. Some reviews say the blade life is better. I usually do a mix shave using a DE Slant Razor on first two, and the single on the third pass to get the closest possible shave. Did a three pass today with the V2, did pretty well. I waiting on my final decision after doing the same mix shave with the V2 for a fair comparison. Since I am experienced with a DE Slant, pressure is not an issue. Might have to try the Aggressive Plate.
Hey Franklin! So sorry for the delay here. The preinstalled setting is the Sensitive / Mild setting. If you want a more aggressive shave, don't hesitate to bump it up! Sounds like since you're experienced that may be the setting for you.
Question: I've been told that I should never shave against the grain because I have a very coarse beard and shaving too closely causes ingrown hairs (and another good reason for a SE razor). In this video, you said you were shaving with the grain, but it looked to me like you were shaving against the grain. I'm wondering if I'm confused about this. Thanks.
He did shave against the grain twice, but the hair under his jaw was at a slight angle. If you have course beard hair shave once with the grain, and if you need a second pass, shave at an angle. Don’t shave against the grain with course hair, you might not get an ingrown hair at first, but eventually you will.
The direction of people’s growth hair varies, so it may be that he was shaving upwards because that is in line with his grain. As it happens, shaving with the grain on my neck involves shaving upwards.
I just ordered a razor Im not familiur how to load the blade does it have instructions when the razor arives and can i shave against the grain with this razor?
Ha! I pressed on it!! I pressed on it! Yes..I cut myself all over LOL... Once a gained some sense I just shaved with the weight of the razor..barely... And it was fantastic. Question... That knob... Does it change the closeness or the aggressiveness of the shave?
I love my R41 but I do fancy picking one of these up as well for the collection. I love using loads of different blades in the R41. I got the best shave with a BiC Chrome Platinum blade the other day. No irritation and smooth as hell with the R41.
@@moviestar5883 try a real straight razor - the one you hone yourself - and you'll be blown away by the 100-year old technology. Straight razors are so gentle on the face unlike shavettes.
I'll be impressed if you guys come out with a newer version that puts the blade at the perfect shaving angle when you hold the edge flush against your face. That would combine the pros of a cartridge razor with the pros of a safety razor.
Same… not sure what I’m doing wrong. And they bled A LOT. Though it’s also worth noting that they stopped bleeding much faster than expected given the amount of blood 😅
that's what came to mind when i first saw this if it were such a good idea Gillete would've picked it up already this is why pre mach3 era razors lasted for as long as they did and the mach3 still popular and of course the fusion where you get 5 blades !!!
I just got mine but I don’t have the shaving cream that comes with the razor, does the razor make a difference in shaving because I was using my regular shaving cream and it wasn’t really cutting any hair off.
I'm pretty sure they take SE injector blades if I'm not mistaken. So if you can get a better line of supply on injector blades for where you're located, they should work with the handle.
Gillette isn't a good modern consideration because they sold their souls for cartridge razor ecosystems a long time ago. I stopped using cartridge razors for a while. Running multiple blades right next to each other like that catches the hair, and cuts it below the skin's surface. Which gives you a "closer" shave but also causes more ingrown hairs. I shave with a DE razor, and while the shave might not be as "close" I don't get ingrown hairs nearly as often. And I can actually shave daily if needed, without feeling like I've murdered my face.
I depends on the person but I think those type of blades can get 10 shaves easy. They say 20 will last you 6 months but really 20 would probably last a year or more
@@Sledhead Just don't roll the edge when installing; I somehow managed to do that twice (which is odd since there's all the instructions and the process should be foolproof).
