Great video! Thank you so much! I have been debating on shaving my face for a while now. I have seen several videos about it and some that say you shouldn't do it. Well, I decided today was the day! Other videos say to do it dry, but I agree with Kerry-Lou that using shaving cream is the best way. I used a regular 3 blade shaver. Oh my gosh! How did no one tell me before that I had peach fuzz EVERYWHERE???? There was sooooooo much! The most amazing thing is when I went to put my liquid foundation on. Oh my goodness, it really went on smoothly! Now I can't stop staring at my face and touching it! Thank you for this video! I just recently started using a dermaplaner on my skin to eliminate the peach fuzz, (which wasn't all that noticeable until I used a powder foundation), and to exfoliate. While it does work, the dry skin on my cheeks always felt chafed afterwards, even if I used a cream or oil product. I did your method today using a small razor similar to yours and the difference was amazing! My skin is so smooth!! When I applied my foundation, I actually had some leftover because it glided on so well! Thanks for this demo. So helpful! :D

Fantastic. I saw a video of shaving for ladies in a RU-vid video a week ago and thought I would try it. I did it on moisturized skin but will now try sensitive skin shaving gel. I used a triple blade like you did. The results were outstanding!! So soft and sleek. I don't have any facial hair to speak of but I think it is about the skin. Am I wrong (I'm a newbee at this). Thank you for the video, I didn't know if this was a popular thing or not....regardless, I will continue!

@@kerrylou3 Hi Kerry-Lou. Thank you for your comment. Yes, exfoliation. I knew it wasn't for 'shaving', if you know what I mean. Anyway, I had a doctor's appointment today and I had just shaved this morning. Kerry-Lou Brehm. WOW. I am blown away. I have been getting my hair dresser to 'trim' my fuzz with scissors for years and it has been my secret. I have been on corticosteroids for decades and it made my face hair grow - though very fine and fluffy. I met an elderly lady who told me I must wax it, though when I did - there was such a mark line between where it had been done that foundation felt like it wasnt staying when I was putting it on. My fine fair hair goes right up to under my the eyes just about and temples. Recently I tried an electric shaver which seemed fine, but it is with trepidation that I even do anything. Now after much illness and wearing no make up for a few years I want to get back to looking good but obviously my old make up style is out - though it used be 'in'. My eyes are always sore and I need surgery but not yet. I have very sensitive skin and always the eyes react with anything that has the shine ingredient in I understand it is from fish scales and my major allergy is to seafood. the softest brushes used hurt, so I used my little finger. I am always getting compliments on my skin, and I am told I don't look my age, and never have due to lovely skin which I have always looked after. So where do I start? I am nearing 70 and have a round face I love your instructions and presentation is so great. Thank you. Do you have suggestions for me please?
@kerrylou3
@kerrylou3 7 лет назад
Hi, Thanks for watching! I also use an electric razor when I'm in a hurry, and this may be better for you as your skin is so sensitive. It great that you have lovely skin, so perhaps you should only use a minimum of makeup. When you have such allergies, always test the tiniest amount of makeup first. (Keep the receipts and return if the products aren't good for you) Check out some of my other videos for makeup application, not all the techniques are right for everyone, but even if you find a few tricks and tips that you like, it's a good start! Good luck to you:-)

Thank you Kerry-Lou Brehm. So glad you said it was ok. I have been so anxious about it. In Australia it seems those in the hairdressing and skin care dont know about shaving the face as you suggest. We tend to use Nair - Hair Remover Cream. I have used it a couple of times but it tends to leave my skin too bare - if there was such a thing.. I tried my makeup like you did using similar colours that you did. Only to find that because they didnt really suit me, they looked faded in a very short time and you couldnt see my hard work. But I did get a couple of compliments. Though there is still a huge difference in the before and after appearance.. I will have another go using the colours I used use - same quality brand. I'll let you know how I go. Thanks for answering my query. There was an advertisement tonight on the shopping channel that I dont watch but there was a woman shaving her face and arms, so I waited and watched the whole advertisement. It was called Yes .......(something) and $100. Said it was the special light that was the magic trick to the miracle shave. But a light cant cut hair so it must have razors that dont pull. Have you seen this product? It did look good. Kind Regards,

Shaving my face was so freeing for me. I was post surgical menopause at 39 and had always had to tweeze my chin and neck due to PCOS combined with dark hair and a very fair complexion. I had to work up the courage because it seemed like such a masculine thing to do. But when I was done, and had wiped away the tears, my skin felt so amazing and I felt so feminine for the first time! Now I am trying to switch to a safety razor for a new challenge.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience here. I'm glad you had a positive experience with shaving. What is masculine, what is feminine? We women have hair, some more than others. We are women and we have hair, on our faces, legs, arms, so therefore hair is feminine also. I'll still shave though LOL! I like the feel of the smoothness. All the best to you!

Hi Kerry-Lou. Waxing did not lift the coarse thick black hair on my chin and tweezing proved to be very painful. Deep roots. So I decided to shave. Once I started shaving, it became even thicker and stubbly. It also increased the amount of black hair by three-fold. I must shave daily now. Unfortunately, I feel like I am the exception to the rule. Any suggestions?

Hi Kelley, When I was about 25 I tried electrolysis on my legs. I had to stop because it was expensive, (especially for a large area like my legs!) however, the patch they worked on is still smooth to this day! Perhaps that would be an answer for you? Also when I was young, I started electrolysis on my legs, due to the expense I had to stop, but the patch that they worked on is still hair-free today! If you have the same amount of hair as a man, and the same texture, yes, it would grow back stubbly. Shaving will not give you additional hair, or roots. Always do a small test patch first to see if you like it.

It does come back stubbly. My mom has shaved her face for decades and whenever she hugs me I get poked with stubble. That's why I've generally tried to avoided shaving, thus far. But waxing and plucking is SO HARSH on your skin. And shaving is SO much quicker & easier. I think I'm going to quit waxing and just stick with shaving. It's so much easier and less traumatic to your skin. (Just be sure you're freshly shaven if you're planning to go dancing cheek to cheek!😉)

I always read that the peach fuzz makes a woman's face look softer. The hair is really not noticed. I barely have peach fuzz, and I never had the desire to shave my face. I barely have time to do good skincare everynight and day. I can't imagine adding another time consuming regimen. However, if I had heavy dark facial hair, I would do it. It is also such a typical masculine procedure and I felt bad for men who had to shave everyday, sometimes twice. Just thoughts on the subject.

I had thought about shaving especially in the last few years. I have always had a little hair on my face but once I hit menopause it started getting a lot worse. I have been worried that it would make matters worse. I have a lot of long hair on my chin and down my neck. I have curly hair and I am worried about ingrown hair. But at this point, I am ready to go for it. I ev. en tried my brothers powered hair remover that you mix with water. The first time it worked but the second time it burned my skin. He had been using it since his days in the army because when he shaved he would get really bad razor bumps. It is only left on 5 to 7 minutes. I will not try that again. It took a while to heal. I think my only option that does not cost too much is shaving.

I was working with a girl who was born in France at the time, and she told me that she shaved her face also and she loved the way her skin looked and felt. @kerrylou3
@kerrylou3 2 года назад
Hi Laura, the hair will come back as it was before shaving. You cannot make more hair follicles, you have what you have. The hair can seem more prickly however. This is because the hair becomes "blunt" on the end when shaved. Unshaved hair tapers off on the end. If you don't intend to keep up with it, this may not be the best hair removal for you.
