So apparently this is easy in Solidworks, well we have our own special skillz over here yo! This is the #AUTODESK way ya'll! How to model up a sheet metal gusset in Inventor, aye, I really did this.

An alternative way of doing this is to select the 3 faces of the rib (4:30) and use the offset command to create a surface inward of the rib surface. Extend the edges and then split the solid.

You know... I am on my 3rd whiskey all the way from Namibia and I have watched this tutorial for the 2nd time now. Could not stop laughing when you have created that flat pattern... Futuristic watering can... Hehehe but I could feel that TFI did not want to start this video from the beginning... It's like modeling something in Maya and it's only for viewing perposes... Hehehe... Well done Lad. Love you're videos

ROFL. Good Job. That was my first thought a water pouring device. If I were to do a million of these things, I would have a mold made, A and B type mold and stamp it in, just my first thought.

Great idea with ruled surface projected to back face. With Inventor you can know dozens of ways how to do something, and still there will be few another. Just quick question. Why did you create an Workplane1 while you had one of the origin planes you could use?

My question is, How would a tin-bender make that rib? Most likely with 2 pieces and weld them together. Then I would model it that way.

Special tools in a press brake. Would be made during the 90 degree bend

What would you say is the better package to use? I use inventor whilst at uni, however when 3d printing things I much prefer fusion 360. Or is it just a personal preference thing more than anything?

Inventor is better, more powerful, more functional, used in far far far more businesses around the world, Fusion is cheaper and in 10-15 years time might take the lead over Inventor. So right now I'd stick with Inventor.

TFI ah okay thanks. But for things like cam youd want fusion? Inventor for large assemblies. I feel fusion is better for product design
