Such a good video! I’ve been on Depop for years and I haven’t been able to find anything that’s just straight to the point on how to use something other than “Depop shipping”. Thank you!!
If you have your own shipping, when you get a sale Does depop take from just how much the item sold of or does it take from how much it sold for plus the shipping?
Does it matter what I ship through? Like could I just pick the cheapest option on Pirate Ship then take it to my post office drop box and leave it at that? I don’t have a UPS store or anything like that where I live.
Yes, you can drop off UPS packages at USPS locations if they participate in the UPS SurePost program. UPS SurePost is a service that utilizes both UPS and USPS for delivery. However, it's always a good idea to check with your local USPS office to confirm their specific policies regarding UPS package drop-offs.
he didnt mention it but there is a setting inside depop you have to choose in the "shipping" tab which is inside of your setting. choose "other" and then follow these steps lol
I'm confused about the shipping part. If I'm buying the label at a discount, how does the buyer know how much to pay for shipping when buying the item?
dont see how this is cost effective so i sold something for 8 dollars on depop buyer paid 6.29 for shipping but im now using pirate ship its charging 8.95 and i dont think its using that buyers shipping money they paid since its on another website (pirate ship)
@EvanZoeteman got it. What if just like my experience yesterday when I have to ship it in a box since I can't ship the hat in a plastic bag or it will be deformed. I went to pirate ship and placed the dimensions and weight and it was about $11, but I charged the customer 7.99 for shipping. Will you just pay for the difference and ship it with pirateship or use the label from Mercari/depop?
everytime i ship an item from depop it never tells the buyer that it’s shipped and always tells me that I still need to ship the item, how do I fix this?
if you aren’t using Depop shipping, I do not know. If you are not just click on where it’s telling you it needs to be shipped and find the button that says Mark has shipped.
Good question. I personally have not used Depop labeling system since I first started. So a lot has changed I personally did not like having to weigh my items before hand to select which package size it would be I prefer doing it while I am packaging them up. I will ask around and maybe even give it another try to see if there is a difference.
When I list an item there’s this one place to fill out called “domestic shipping price”. Do I have to find out the shipping price beforehand to list it? Even if I don’t know where I’m shipping it to yet?
You don’t have to know. But if you are choosing to ship it yourself, you have to set a price. I always said mine at $6.56 sometimes you make money on that and sometimes you lose money on that, but it’s more of what customers willing to pay when buying.
What would I be using to package and ship some jeans in this video you use black bags but doesn’t it have to be sealed I thought I would have to use a bubble mailer or a flat rate envelope but that would cut into my shipping cost?
will customers still get shipping updates from usps on the depop app? how do you get a tracking # if you dont get a receipt from usps? ive always just gone to the PO n had them scan the QR code to print the shipping label.
I saw things on offer up and I know they take a good percentage from the buyer. So how can I ask a buyer without sounding like a scam, to do it outside of offer up.
I’m so confused, how are you supposed to know what to price your shipping if you don’t know the price of the shipping label until after your item has sold? As a seller you don’t want to be losing money on the label and the buyer should be covering 100% of the cost of the label with the shipping price you have set, so how do you know what price to set your shipping so you don’t lose money on the label?
@@EvanZoeteman Well the more you sell and if you always sell similar items shouldn’t you get a basic idea of how much the label is going to cost? So then you can set the shipping price higher than what the label is so you don’t lose money? Or does depop automatically set the shipping price for you and you can’t set your own? I really appreciate your responses/feedback btw thank you.
All of my items are under $15.00 and can only be shipped USPS First Class Mail. Even Ground Advantage at $4+ is too expensive. Last time I checked PirateShip did not handle FCM. Has that changed?
Hey I don’t know if anyone knows the answer to this question- but say the weight is like an ounce or two more at ups - they’ll charge me somehow right? Sorry guys, I’m new and I want to make sure I’ll know what to do if this happens
Wait so if the money you get from selling on Depop goes to the Depop balance, then does that mean you pay for shipping with your own money?? Of does the amount the customer paid for shipping get sent to like your PayPal to use for buying shipping labels? I’m really confused 😭😭
@@Gg23beme I learned that theres a "custom shipping" option when you list your item. Click that then add something like 8 dollars and make that default for everything and ship through pirate ship using the money. Although I've heard this method doesn't give you depop protection
@@EvanZoetemanis that a flat rate like on eBay? Or do you use the depop/usps shipping option for that amount, then almost always/always use pirate ship? Right now all my listings are free shipping and I use pirate ship. Do you not recommend this? I’m thinking about not doing this anymore because I think buyers think the cost doesn’t include shipping (I don’t think depop advertises a listing as “free shipping” anymore)
