never add water into the stuff, always add stuff into the water - that rule is for all strong chems!!! elementary school chemistry (strong reactions with fumes can occur if you dont follow that rule)

Absolutely! Getchorself a half of bucket of water pour the granular into the bucket stir thoroughly until the little pebbles are completely dissolved and then toss it in the pool 🤟You're welcome 😊

Yelling "Boo" or being an old groundskeeper dressed up as a ghost or monster. If I remember my Saturday morning cartoons correctly, that usually gave everyone a shock/fright.

I use hot tap water to dissolve the granules. Just be sure to keep your face way away from the bucket when using hot or warm water. Or wear a respirator.

I wish there were videos AND packaged chemicals geared to smaller (i.e., 1100 gallon) pools like what I have. Trying to "calculate" the amount needed can be trickly.

What position should filter valve be in? Filter or recirculate when shocking.

When shocking, the filter should be on the normal filter setting. You'd only need to run the filter on Recirculate for extended periods of time for water treatments that should bypass the filter, like flocculants.

@@3ngi_n33rI'd check the bottle instructions. If the chemical should not go through the filter media, it should be mentioned in the directions. Generally, strong coagulants like flocculants should never touch your filter media, whereas mild coagulants like clarifiers are safe for the filter.

Can i shock a pool just like shown if i have an inline chlorinator that still has tabs in it or should i wait until the chlorinator is totally empty? Also if the chlorinator is completely empty and i shock the pool (exactly as shown) when can i put some chlorine tabs back in the chlorinator??

Yes, you can shock the pool with this method while there's still tablets in the chlorinator. The shock would be so diluted by the time it gets cycled through the chlorinator again, there shouldn't be an issue.

why not use the skimmer!!

We don't recommend pouring shock into the skimmer. The main reason is that shock like cal-hypo is explosive. Some of it could get through the system an into a tablet feeder. The mixing of cal-hypo and dichlor could cause a nasty reaction. We also don't like the idea of adding highly concentrated directly into the plumbing and equipment.

last step; get into the pool and release couple of strong short farts, it will add to the water bouquet and kill chlorine odor + aeration

I find it funny that Leslies video has them pouring it directly in and this video you are pouring it in water first. I'm wondering if one is better than the other.

We prefer to dissolve it first. The majority of the granules tend to rest on the floor when you pour the bag directly into the pool. If you don't brush them up, it could discolor the pool surface or liner.
