I feel so old. I’ve been thinking about starting a channel just for fun, you know for my mom and some random stranger. But I’m so out of touch with my tech! I have a Canon EOS Ti7, it’s 7 yrs old and probably ancient by tech standards. I used to shoot with a canon F1 in the old timey film days, I loved that camera. Going digital was hard. I’ve enjoyed the travelling West helicopter series which I stumbled on and then tripped over this through your home Reno podcast. This is a really helpful video. You have so many skills and cool gadgets and furniture.
For someone who is a photographer but just getting into video this is gold! Thank so you much I couldn’t find anything like this on the internet without people wanting to charge for a course.. Thank you so much!!
I was hoping for an in-depth on the 7-shot list! Very useful checklist to have on a shoot and thanks for taking the time to create the pdf. Welcome back to regular uploads!
You both are the best. This is what I needed! Thanks for sharing the basics. I’m loving this kind of stuff. As a photographer who wants to make some videos, these are the tools I need to make the projects I want to! Many thanks!
Love love loooove videos with tips like this; we have DEFINITELY found ourselves in pickles before where things just WERE NOT working out the way that we pre-planned them in our sweet little minds; and then... oh no, it's time to "shoot on the fly"! Going to be using this process on our next film outing, for sure. Thanks for taking the time to spell this out for us amateurs! 👍😆
You have no idea how helpful this is! For someone who is often intimidated by knowing where to start with filming this is a game changer. Thanks so much you guys! Love your channel 🙏🏻
I always tailor the video to the song i pick. The rhythm, the mood, the emotion, the music drives the story, and the video clips have to complement the music. I love to spend time browsing Artlist or Epidemic Sound, and i usually find a couple of good songs to choose from for my next little project. Basically, when i hear the song, i can easily visualise all the scenes in my mind, which helps a lot because i am almost editing the video mentally before i even start shooting. I love that process so much.
Same put some notes in my...field notes book for my camera bag. And love how much care your blunnies get Becki. Are they a nice boot in America...just a work boot here and get smashed.
I've been thinking about the 7 shot sequence since you mentioned it in that other video. I'm so happy you made a more in depth video. I'm excited to get out and shoot!
It just so happens this episode is really helpful RIGHT NOW! I'm on holiday in Shakespear's hometown and I'm in an airB&B, 100 meters from where he's buried. Only been here 6 days and I've racked up 1.5Tb of footage (What The actual F...?). That is indeed a sh1t load of footage. Tomorrow I'm moving location to visit an Air Ballon Festival and following your suggestions I hope to be more economical rather than try to capture everything in case I miss anything. My biggest weakness is not taking establishing shots and going right into the mid shots only. It also does not help matters filming in ProRes with those fekin big file sizes. Good thing I do this for a hobby, and not as a day job. 😂
This is honestly one of THEE coolest and most informative videos I have ever watched!! Very well done my friends!!’ I absolutely loved this video and will be using the tactics from now on!! THANK YOU!!!!!!
Thanks Becki, this is great! I've gotten into videos the past year or so but I haven't created as much as I'd like because I just feel lost and overwhelmed with what to create and how to edit it. This definitely helps!
Thank you so much for this template! I've always been very nervous when doing video, I'm an absolute beginner, and this has really helped me to plan much better and execute even better. Thank you very much!
it's fun to watch you evolve your wardrobe on this set. Last time you didn't like the dark clothes on the dark background and today you're wearing light colors. anyways, love the video. I need to get better at preproduction!
