In todays video I'm walking through how I shoot a room from start to finish! I show you how I edit my images, talk about why I don't use flash, plus share what compositions you should get during your shoot. I also breakdown what camera gear you need for real estate photography and it might not be what you expect!

This is the best interior photography video ever. Thanks for not pushing flambient using absolutely hideous images. Thanks for posting gorgeous interior shots that show great color, depth, and composition, FFS. Thank you, thank you.

So nice to hear someone say it! I absolutely detest the window pulled heavy weighted on flash, flambient images that most youtube people push. I only use flash composites for high end work and its very subtle. Real estate is ambient only.
@richdie72
@richdie72 Год назад
I’m a full time interior photographer who studied art. Trying to explain to people why the window pull is so bad (mostly) is very tricky. It also really flattens the image. My attention always goes immediately to the windows which is just wrong. All the editors that constantly contact me all do it too. Who wants to see that parked car or house across the road.

Haha agreed! Flambient sucks

Flambient is great and the editing doesn't have to include window pulls. The whole idea is to kill white balance and color cast issues using flash and blend in natural light. You can use as much ambient light as you personally feel like.

Easily one of the best guides to real estate photography. Clear explanations of some complex rather concept concepts. You've packed the majority of a real estate gig into 11:25min, that's pretty impressive.

Thanks for the excellent video. Very complete and useful information. The only info I found lacking was: 1. Using fill flash to light a room. 2. Using polarizing filter to control unwanted reflections. 3. Using shift/tilt lens to control perspective and/or depth-of-field.

Another hidden gem is the tripod ARTCISE CS60C for about $160, this is the one I use for everything, I shoot Real Estate here in Panamá all across the country and this tripod is unbeatable, you can compare it with some very expensive ones. Bests regards from a Venezuelan follower!

I'm so with you in terms of using natural light. I started out years ago using a flash and I hate it now. Silly things like shadows in slightly weird places.
@MTD369
@MTD369 2 года назад
you just gotta learn to blend and light paint effectively, and use luminosity layers. Adding flash shots to simulate the direction of where the sun comes from. That way you maintain the richness and saturation of colors with the flash and keep the natural shadows. Mike Kelley or Scott Hargis are the ones to learn from. This is kind of your more basic HDR edit.
