This is really good you know. You've got what I consider a non-interesting regular street scene with cars, nothing interesting to me, but you saw the interest in it and pulled a great painting out of it.

Well-described instruction on how to approach and simplify two very intimidating scenes (intimidating in my opinion). Love how you broke down them down with your thought process explanations. I would like to try both images, but I must admit, I’m scared of that boat scene!

Haha thank you so much Gail! 😁🙏🏼 And I get it - all the details can be intimidating. Try painting one of the boats first, as its own painting. Then try to tackle the full scene. And remember, always worry about the CURRENT stage, you'll figure out the next washes when it's time 😊

This was probably the single best video I have seen on watercolor demonstrations - and a two for one: two separate types of scenes. Nice video. It kinds of give a fresh perspective of how to break a complex composition into smaller pieces. Your methods add a lot of simplified mindful thinking in drawing a scene. There is N number of watercolor channels, and everyone is a master in his or her style, and so do you. You touch upon areas that are vital in the process of watercolor, looking it up entirely as a science, with lots of logic and reason. It's a kind of walking through the process of creating a painting, allowing one to understand it. good work . Keep it up.
