Daniel is by far the best example of practice what you preach. He is humble, but straight to the point. I have made huge strides in a short period of time studying with him, and will continue for the sheer appreciation to detail and individual guidance he gives. Cheers brother, another great exercise and video!

Love the intro. If there's anything the singing community needs it's definitely more reaction videos!!!

You have one of the best voices of all the coaches on youtube. Definitely going to take a lesson when I can afford it.

daniel formica Why aren't you a famous singer yet? Do you not want to be? Thats the only reason I can see for you to not be yet. You've clearly mastered, or nearly mastered it. Or is the industry just really shitty right now?
@Gibson1961SG

daniel formica Thats not meant to offend btw. Im honestly astounded that you aren't known. If its a question of needing a band to front, Ill play lead guitar :p
@danielformica-yourvocalteacher
it has some to do with finding the right band and also what sound or style to do?I like so many different styles but to be a true artist I think you need to really nail and love to write just one. I'm not a very good lyricist either. and I'm pretty old lol.

daniel formica Age has nothing to do with it man. People show up for seasoned talent and personality. You've got those already. How often do you write lyrics and work at it? In my experience its exactly like every other skill. Time and effort will produce a mountain of crap with a few diamonds stuck in there waiting to be processed and worked. And if you really are "old" then youve probably had your fair share of ups and downs. Take something that either deeply effected, or still deeply effects you, and enter the feelings brought up by it like its a room or space in your mind. Then just sit in it and write until you find your diamond. I have no doubt you can do it.

Hey, Dan! Love your approach to singing and your ability to convey your ideas. How low can you sing? Do you teach how to have powerful low notes? I heard quite often there is just "the right way" of singing that would teach you how to sing high and low, but I don't see it in action. Thanks. Best regards.
@danielformica-yourvocalteacher
Ander S thanks Ander I do work a lot with low range as it is very important to the high notes. You want them to be relaxed but not sit to heavy on the cords

Daniel: I hear your feelings about this medium, but you are an inspiring teacher! I appreciate the work you have done so far! Thanks for all the ideas and inspiration! It is great to get tips and pointers from someone who can sing and perform the way you do! Have a blast with the new band! Hope you will post some clips!

I enjoy the videos you make, Daniel! I use them to refer to as a refresher from my lessons with you. Speaking of lessons- if anyone out there is thinking about taking them from you via Skype- I highly recommend you go for it! Daniel will personalize your lessons, teaching you specific techniques to help you improve in the areas where you need help. You have to put in the work by practicing these techniques after the lessons but he gives you the best tools to get where you want to be as a vocalist. Thanks, Daniel! Jeanne

Oy Daniel! I probably have never thanked you, and have watched so many of your vids- so, thank you man. As everybody else in the comments agrees, you're just a rare breed- great singer, great teacher. For this exercise, i notice a lot more air coming out when i'm doing the 'oo' vowel- is that ok? or a mark i'm doing it haphazardly? (i'm used to the idea of 'inhaling the tone', so i'm always on edge when air is streaming out). cheers man. and thanks again.
@danielformica-yourvocalteacher
Jeff Douglas thanks man that’s really nice to say!!!

Quality video Dan! Does this eventually lead into ‘Vowel Register’ you & Alex were talking about, or is that a different coordination altogether?
@danielformica-yourvocalteacher
yeah for sure

Hi Daniel, I know this is older, I hope you see this. Should we ne staying in falsetto for the whole exercise, both the slide and the 5 tone scale?

Hey Dan! Does it feel effortless when u go into abducted falsetto/mixed voice/whatever or does it feel like an extention of your chest voice? I'm just asking because it feels for me like the extention and I don't know if I'm going kinda to hard on it.
@danielformica-yourvocalteacher
it feels sort of like chest because of the closure but its its own thing. puffy in the throat maybe lol

Hey Daniel. The exercise is done only in "M2" mode? Great video by the way!
@danielformica-yourvocalteacher
Sergei Fleyer The singing community is confused M1 M2 some consider it vibratory patterns some sound ideal. So without any paralysis by analysis. Let’s do it once in falsetto then once in falsetto smoothly swelling too full voice tone

then how should we sing the open vowels in high notes(notes above middle c)?and should we modify our vowel high note?hope you'll answer...
@danielformica-yourvocalteacher
you find the collected felling some call it gathered like a tight oo not a speech oo and swell on it and change the vowel to what ever you want just don't fall out of the position of the collected feelin

Hey. Great video as all of yours. What are the other things that have to happen so that your falsetto becomes your full voice?
@danielformica-yourvocalteacher
Dominikus Pult when you go into the chest and back up around d4 if you stay true to oo or ee you will notice something has to happen . So don’t move your mouth or the inside or vowel, leaning in with appoggio should happen more and that’s where the effort comes in

You do not sing in the falsetto because falsetto is a disconected voice, and You, as a trained singer, most likely do not sing in this mode at all. Thats just light head voice.
@danielformica-yourvocalteacher
of course i do prince earth wind and fire etc
