First, you’ll need a pair of sharp, heavy-duty scissors, shears or large serrated knife and the long white Kore sizing tape. Do not use your own measuring tape or any other tools. Start by laying the outer belt on a table with the hook Velcro facing up. Next, overlay the Kore sizing tape down the length of belt. Line up the track graphic on the tape, with the gray colored track on the back of the belt. Then locate your pant size on the sizing tape and cut. So for example, if your pant size is 36” - cut the outer belt at the 36” mark. Once the belt is cut, grab your buckle, back out or remove the hex screws using the provided 2.5 mm wrench, insert the belt all the way into the receptacle and clamp down the teeth. Don’t tighten the screws until after you try the belt on and check the fit. When you do, be careful not to strip or overtighten the hex screws. The screws go in last.
Next, lay the inner liner Velcro belt on the table with the sizing tape overtop. The flexible nylon belt material should under the track graphic, because you’re going to cut from the opposite blunt end of the belt. Next, find your pant size - subtract one inch - and cut. For example if your pant size is 36” size - cut inner belt at the 35” mark on the tape. Then trim any excess threads or lightly singe the end with a lighter.
Try it on and see how it fits. Feed your inner Velcro belt thru your belt loops and attach the end with the pull-tab over the Velcro. The flexible 4” nylon section should be centered on your pants over the front zipper. That area should not have any part of the stiffer Velcro inner belt extending behind it. This is so the nylon section can collapse when needed to let the outer belt adjust. If it does stick out, trim that small section off the inner belt. Then you can attach and squeeze the metal end cap to the inner belt and clamp down the teeth.
Next, take your outer belt and position your buckle on the right edge of the nylon material so it is hanging over that section. Feed the belt Right to Left aligning it and sticking it to your inner belt Velcro as you go. When the belt tip comes around from the left, feed it thru the buckle and pull until snug. You should have 4-6 inches of in and out adjustment. If the belt is too long, remove it and cut off 1” at a time until it works properly. The small release and adjustment tab is under the buckle and you just pinch it to activate it.
Once it’s sized properly you can tighten down the hex screws gently. Lastly, you can attach the belt keeper using its own Velcro next to the buckle. It holds the tip down.
