hey man, you genuinely saved my RL1 run, I was on the verge of giving up. across Reddit, youtube, and every other platform where people talk about this Jump, no one ever explained the importance of attacking while Jumping. I tried for 2 hours without it (rip) until I saw this vid and literally got it first try. Also you gave amazing tips for the wall bit. really grateful for this.
Wow, it's a good thing this guide is for the current patch I was afraid that it would no longer work because this video has been out for 7 months and patches came out since then It's such a noble deed that he uses his time machine to go back and film this video on patch 1.08 just for me, such a noble soul
Man, you're still saving RL1 runs in 2023! It took me like 40 minutes but I did it. Thank you so much!! This is THE BEST tutorial for the Godskin Noble skip, appreciate you!
Took me a while but I succeeded! It turned out that on the final jump, I was actually not holding left long enough, when I held left longer it lifted me up high enough to be able to complete the jump. Thank you for the in-depth guide, I’d still be stuck otherwise.
Patch 1.06 as of 8/20/2022, this still works. Dont forget to turn off the camera rotate etc, then dont forget to hold L1 for block before that last jumped. Did it in 3 tries. Thanks brother!
Been trying for 2 hours using other tutorials and couldnt do it once. Watched your video and got it second try. Died to the lava slugs (im doing a RL1 run) went back and did it again first try. Died to the abductor. Did it again second try. Died to a lizard. Went back and did it again first try, died to fall damage getting the ash of war. Did it again first try, got the ash of war and dipped out before i could die again 😂 point is, other tutorials sucked, but yours made me a pro at this! Thanks again!
Great guide all around. Those struggling with the jumps, don't give up. I'm no speedrunner or precision player and still managed it within about 2 hours over two sessions. I took a break after making the pillar jumps and started to get frustrated on the wall climb. Best advice I can give is: Don't spam. Make your attempts methodically. Don't just keep making the same mistake over and over and get frustrated. Try the next attempt a little differently until you get closer and closer. Suddenly you'll make the jump and surprise yourself. Pillar jumps worked when I attacked rapidly after jumping and used the attack animation to change direction. I basically jumped and then attacked nearly immediately after and then changed direction in the air. I didn't try to change direction until after attacking. Wall climb takes patience and really being able to queue up sprint. Practice sprint-queuing a good amount on the flat before doing it on the wall so you get the feel for it (and understand what you did wrong if/when it misfires). I even practiced doing it from the side so I was used to it for the final jump. Work to be able to simply queue up the sprint and do the jump on the flat before spending time climbing the wall. Being comfortable with sprint-queuing meant I got the last jump within about 8 tries because I wasn't as confused as to what was happening when it failed. Blocking during the jump didn't do anything in the final jump for me, I think. But what it did do is help me get stablized and high as possible on the second jump point. It actually helps push you up the wall a bit and helped me reduce my spastic overcompensation trying to find the highest point and then making myself slide off. Otherwise wall climb is pretty much just as he said. Thanks for the great guide. Used it to skip Noble to get Dagger Talisman super early for a near-full parry/crit playthrough.
This is harder than anything I've ever done, and I've still yet to make the final jump. Although, unless I cloud save, or successfully get the elevator so I only gotta do the pillar bit, I still gotta get to Rykard, and this path feels awfully poetic so far in attempting to obtain his weapon.
Thank you Luc! After about two and a half hours i got down the Last jump. I would add to the guide that don't be afraid to jump kind of against the cliff while keeping the compass angle on the last jump.
I’m not sure if some are still having trouble pulling this off. What I did before jumping is that the game does let the left leg float so I make sure I do that before I jump
I love you guide... I used it to do something else tbh I just wanted that smithing stone 7 ... Using the attack extended my jump enough or secured me on the edge and was able to get it on my second go tysm
So I honestly didnt have a reason to learn this but ended up trying it anyway for 2 hours and after dying by the Abductor Virgin 4 times and a lava slug, I finally made it to Rykard and then quickly questioned why I wanted to be there in the first place on a healer only run. Great video though!
the skip still works, i like to run arornd the noble before i set up my gear to get to the somber 7 early, so before sleeping pots become feasible for dps reasons. i think the tips for the last jump are misleading though. the jump has a slightly different animation when performed running into a wall. you have to jump WHILE running left. this triggers the slower jump animation, then you point the stick in front to give the direction. jumps at walls when performed this way increase the range.
Well its day #2 now and I've only been able to get all the way up the wall twice. For some reason I can't seem to land on that first invisible platform on the wall. I'm starting to think I should just beat the boss as intended as that would be much more time efficient (edit) watched another video by "blade" and turns out I just needed to change a couple settings. After that I got the skip 2nd try
The weird thing for me is the easiest part is the wall. I get it 1-2 tries every time on PS5, but the pillar jumps are abysmal for me to do. Any other tips on how to get the pillar jumps consistently? Great video btw.
I nailed the pillar jumps after about 15 mins. currently stuck on the wall jumps. I found it easier to do the pillar jumps on mouse n keyboard, run out perpendicular to the pillar (that is, at a right angle from the wall on your right) before jumping out and curving your mouse, holding W and D, and attacking.
Thank you for this❤. The very last jump can be done facing ne. Runn straight then curve jumping right using that same punching method frok the first 2 jumps i how waaaay easier.
Thank you for this! Could you also do one for the bridge skip to the somber 7 in the same area? Apparently they made the ledge you land on smaller and I can't make the jump anymore but I'm told it's still possible
Maybe. I’m not on current patch right now and haven’t really practiced that Skip. All I know is that you jump slightly more right than you used to. Keyboard would probably make it a lot easier
The last jump is 10x harder than it needs to be. Watch how speedrunners do it. It's way easier to jump while facing the wall NE and curve the jump onto the cliff. Doing the "quick left then straight" method is has never worked for me.
i failed the skip so many times that i just said screw it and beat the boss after 20 attempt's (its my first from software game please dont judge) I'm mainly at this place for the somber smithing stones. But I just cant get the 6th one.
To all the fanboys that say just git gud, I think it's cheating if you try to git gud to beat this game. I think unless you suck and beat this game while still sucking, you haven't really played. If you memorize all of a bosses moves and then beat him, isn't that just cheating?
@@luc1 as an update, I took a day break just to do another run but I came back to the wall and it’s now been 2 and a half hours and I still haven’t got it.
Ok fuck this. Stuck for two hours and can’t do the first wall jumps. Every time I fall off when I see others just walk into the wall and stop and they’re fine. Do you HAVE to have a female character or something? Are the collision boxes even different with different sex models?
I know this is old. But I am wondering on the hard left, straight. On the final jump how long are ppl holding hard left to straight. I dont know how quick I am to flick all of that, and keep landing on the ledge below the needed one.
Probably not the best place to ask this ( i did enjoy this video alot i used to it get blasphemous blade super early because i thought it would be fun ) do you think you could use the spawn item command offline with anti cheat disabled to get consumable items for PvP? then go back online without getting soft banned. farming and self duping rope is just not fun for grease you should be able to buy
How do i buffer the sprint and block at the same time? it just makes me kick (im playing on pc) (nvm, i just changed my controls) I'm also having trouble with getting up the wall, when I align myself to north east on the compass I just slip off the wall and when I stop moving it just slides me down and I can't make the jump.
@@labakrapscalio451 for sure, but it is slower still. If you're looking for just something to implement during casual playthroughs, by all means. For speedruns though i'd highly recommend using the pause buffer for the free 1 second of timesave 👍
Yeah idk it’s just not worth trying to learn, that last jump is near impossible, you run left you fall instantly you run forward you fall instantly you stand there you might as well just fall instantly cause as soon as you move, well you know, you fall instantly
What happens to the routing if this skip gets patched, assuming you don't downpatch? Do you still go for serpent hunter? Or some other somber wep - plus upgrading becomes a lot harder since you might be locked into +6 assuming From keeps trying to stop people from grabbing that SS7. All the other SS7 are so much further into the game and it would definitely add a lot of time to the run on current patch. It's difficult to imagine what even else you'd use at RL1, the serpent hunter is just so amazing. Ringed finger maybe? Super out of the way though.
Tried this about 30 times and couldn't get it to work. The doorway AI freeze is patched. The boss isn't dying to a +13 weapon. I quit Elden ring, this game is actually really fucking terrible compared to the early souls games. Everything in Elden ring just kills you in a couple hits. All the bosses move around really fast and don't hardly leave openings to attack or heal, it's ridiculous. Using shields is fucking useless, since any boss hits you and your entire stamina bar is GONE. at least with Dark Souls they gave you options and tools to deal with bosses. If you weren't a pro at rolling or parrying, you could wear heavy armor or use shields instead. But now all the new "souls" games are these hyper fast paced insane rolling / dodging only. it's really sad how much I wanted to love this game. Every single enemy and boss encounter is designed to be as obnoxious as possible, enemies just deal way to much damage and stunlock you with every attack. Wearing full knight set, and a upgraded shield and pretty much every enemy just zero's your stamina with one basic attack, and they can hit you 2 more times before it regens.
@@luc1 Was using a +5 Kite Shield, with vigor and endurance at 25+ Longsword +13 Knight armor The noble just punches right through the shield and breaks my guard with 1 attack, then kills me with the next attack.
@@TheFatPunisher vigor/health is super important in this game. 40-60 is going to be ideal for melee focused characters (ranged spammers can get away with less). With less than 40 vigor you run the risk of every other major (mid to late game) boss being able to cleave you in half like you're made of wet tissue paper. Honestly, unless you're at Volcano Manor for something specific, I'd recommend backing off from this boss until you get more vigor; this fight isn't mandatory so you can leave and come back at your leisure. Shields against bosses is often going to be a bad time. Greatshields would work a lot better for you I think, though their strength and equip load investment is usually going to be higher. Greatshields pair nicely with spears and thrusting weapons since they can block and attack at the same time, letting you turtle pretty effectively. Scholars Shield is a sorcery that ups your guard boost by 25% (so you lose less stamina when blocking) and increases the physical (if less than 100%) and magical resistance of the shield; only needs 12 intelligence, costs 30 FP and can be found early in Limgrave. Low range weapons like Straight Swords just get trashed on hard unless you're dual wielding and applying bleed or something.
could not agree more bro im currently trying to get a build for margit and you are telling me i have to go all the way TO THE GOD DAMN GODSKIN NOBLE TO GET A BLOODY ENDGAME WEAPON JUST TO DO A BUILD
Long story actually, but basically they switched ownership of SpeedSouls over some drama. New URL is probably needed, a little googling can help you find it 👍
I'vee did speedruns for fun in previus souls games ,but trying to do this consistent seem very hard ,ill use the old sleep pots route instead 😅 Anyway this skip could be helpful on my next's runs 👍🏻
hey dude your sprint buffer thing theres a much easier way to do it,jump and hold O or B dont let go and you'll instantly start running when you move your stick
i don't find that easier, but if you do that's great. That's just not always the best option to sprint buffer in other areas of the game and the pause method is faster as well.
