I feel like Adam is the type of guy to be able to build an intelligent AI super computer by himself without a problem but needs an instruction manual to start a microwave
He used a garage door opener as the mechanism to open and close the sleeping pod and I know it has a mechanical release built in but its located on the outside of the pod, hopefully he made a way to unlock it from the inside.
is it possible he has a always charging battery hooked up to a Bluetooth activator for the garage door opener or like how cars have the ability to have the user set up the button to the car. Instead of a car have the tablet do it
What'd you think?? Have I finally gone mad? What would you do if you only had to sleep 2 hours a day??? For more information about the project check out our fact sheet: www.thehacksmith.ca/ultimate-sleeping-pod/ (HOW MUCH IT COST, CAN YOU BUY IT, ETC) Plus don't forget to check out the Sleeping Pod Camera feed: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Baj0kPJoUPU.html -- something unusual happens about 2.5 hours into the video feed!
Josiah Hager I know I want to make one for the house project I want to do. And this thing costed like $3k in materials? Ya. That's going to be awesome. Though this kind of reminds me of the capsule rooms they have in Japan.
"Here's an interesting fact: you're not breathing real air. It's too expensive to pump this far down. We just take carbon dioxide out of a room, freshen it up a little, and pump it back in. So you'll be breathing the same room full of air for the rest of your life. I thought that was interesting."
An average person can only limt their sleep time like only 9 hour or so and if they go more farther they are already dead at the time, but the hacksmith did the impossible
you know, i was on board until i saw you peeking through the little port hole you made then I realized this whole thing was just an excuse to make an expensive pillow fort in your garage =P
That wont cause sleep deprivation it you feel tired for a week or so at first starting but wont pass out then you will get used to it i dont do this personally but Still i learned about this
This is not gonna help me that high-tech matress would only make me sleep 10 hours more or maybe I might not even get the power to get out of there because of my laziness I would just bring my laptop and TV and my food.
James :What's holding you back from making your wildest dreams come true? Me: my wildest dreams. James:(face palms) Thank you for liking James a.k.a Hacksmith!
Do you, or possibly even others like Ian, still use the Everyman sleep cycle to this day? And do you still use the pod too? It would be super cool to see you revisit this in a future video!
Fritte _ for better or for worse this crazy dude only does real stuff... The only thing that's not so real sometimes is how he presents them... But this was propably legit and doesn't seem unrealistic... Anyone could propably make something similar with enough time on their hands
He still has in one of his vid about jujimufu (I think his name was) coming to the hacksmith industries and took a tour, in that tour they mention the sleeping pod
@Émile Gagnon I really don’t understand how this oversleeping thing makes any sense i oversleep all the time when I don’t have work to do i either go to sleep at 12:00AM OR 3to4 AM I try not to sleep at all keyword try but when I do sleep I’m out like a light don’t wake up till half the day is over and even then I might just go back to sleep
Just thinking about the fact that there's a garage somewhere on earth, there is someone with one of the coolest companies ever... sleeping in a sleeping pod, makes me feel like I time traveled.
Alex lönn I have slept on a couch for 2 years now and its a sectional and it is falling appart your lucky I always have a lump in my back I cant sleep on a flat surface anymore.
Tremor244 I use to sleep in my car for 4 years... then when I got some money I was able to rent a space in a house it was the size of a closet.... I had a couch in there cause it was the only thing that would fit.... a down comforter was my best friend
@@unavailable1602 Stop bullshitting. It has literally been proven that after a week of no sleep, you would go insane due to insomnia and sleep paralysis.
Galentron the world record is 1 week 4 days Also insomnia is having trouble going or staying asleep and sleep paralysis is the inability to move when falling or waking up from sleep so you can’t get sleep paralysis if you are awake although you can get anxious and paranoid and might get hallucinations if you stay up longer than a 3-4 days
But, isn't on the throne that the most important descisions are made? It is an important part of life, peaceful solitude, a time at which nobody will come interupting your ideas...Well, when you're not sick, at least.
Anyone else feel like it would be nice being in that pod outside during heavy rain? Idk about you guys, but I feel like being in a metal pod with a small window hearing the rain on pouring down on it with a nice warm coffee would be amazing
Caskets are generally not places I, and hopefully most people, strive to sleep in. Apparently the Hacksmith is not someone who shares this point of view.
the Hacksmith no way! Also I never thought a youtuber would actually reply to me! I was kidding about it being more impressive than the pod. I would so buy a pod like that if they were sold. I couldn't stop watching it was sooooo cool.
Bro I remember watching this when it came out man, good times I really like their new videos a lot. Imagine going from sleeping chamber to lightsaber, that's super cool
This needs to be batch or mass produced. Imagine how efficient the world would be if we were able to live a healthy life with less time spent sleeping.
tbh I need to try building one of these, military fucked up my sleep schedule, might as well fuck it up more and get the option to be Batman 4 hours a night XD
Darth Howl control vaults were for using dumb people as tests to use to test other dumb people but then would you want to be locked in a vault with puppets
Is strong enough, knows engineering, builds things, has a company named after him(sort of) and now sleeps only 2 hours a day....He only needs a cape and a cowl and he could officially become The Batman.☺☺
This was easily one of my favorite videos I’ve seen yet and I’ve seen a ton. Also, the sleep schedule cycle is super interesting, I plan on looking into it some more.
@@Ripley1738 I'm pretty sure it is Leatherman Tread. It's just the black version. If I remember correctly, the bracelet itself doesn't have a blade in it, but it has multiple flat end screwdrivers that can also be used to open boxes
I'm a senior engineering student so I just wanted to know how to only sleep two hours... but this seems pretty cool. To be honest I'm probably going to build one of these for myself when I graduate and have more time...
Polyphasic sleep is not for everybody. it is difficult to have socialization without bumping your naps, and then you risk sudden onset sleep deprivation symptoms. If you live alone and are not tied to anyone else's schedule(s) then it can be an extra 4-6 productive hours each day with low impact to your health. Do the research for yourself. NASA trains the astronauts to sleep this way, but if you don't perform your due diligence research your brain will be in space with them.
Polyphasic sleep is not that hard, I kinda had to do that while in engeneering school, just to keep up with all the things I have to do. The trick is to synchronize with your breaks, which are 15-20 minutes long, so pretty much perfect for polyphasic sleep. Now, sleeping in a pod sounds so much more comfortable than sleeping on a table, but hey, not everyone can dump 1000$ on a project like this (200 for the mattress, 200 for the steel, plus the bluetooth speakers, outlets, tablet, LEDs...)
In all seriousness, adding some white or grey stripes to it would make it look a lot better, maybe along the frame of it. This could be a genuinely marketable product for your team if you could create a more aesthetically appealing design. Doing builds on order for a few rich people could net you two to three thousand dollars a piece, which is great for something that doesn't take a ton of hours if you already have precise blueprints.
Hey Jeff W! Take a look at the finished photos on our website! www.thehacksmith.ca/ultimate-sleeping-pod/ If we were to sell something like this it would cost closer to $10,000.... The material cost alone (not including mattress or labour) was $3000!
Tri Pham I thought that as well but I tried the 2 hour sleep cycle and I could do it no problem but the whole time your awake you feel that tired feeling before you become groggy until you take another nap it becomes easier and easier to fall asleep I did it for 2 days and while I was at full mental capasity i felt mentally tired and it felt like the 2 days I did it were only a few hours so even thoe they were longer days they felt really short and they flew by.
