In this video, I'll show you how to solder an ESP32-WROOM-32 module (Wi-Fi + Bluetooth) using surface mount technology (SMD). The ESP32-WROOM-32 is a powerful and versatile module that's commonly used in electronics projects. However, soldering the module can be a bit challenging due to its small size and delicate components. In this tutorial, I'll guide you through the process of soldering an ESP32-WROOM-32 module step-by-step, using the right tools and techniques to ensure a successful result. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced electronics enthusiast, this tutorial will help you learn how to solder an ESP32-WROOM-32 module like a pro, so you can use it in your DIY projects with confidence.
ESP32-WROOM-32 is a powerful, generic Wi-Fi + Bluetooth + Bluetooth LE MCU module that targets a wide
variety of applications, ranging from low-power sensor networks to the most demanding tasks, such as voice
encoding, music streaming and MP3 decoding.
At the core of this module is the ESP32-D0WDQ6 chip*. The chip embedded is designed to be scalable and
adaptive. There are two CPU cores that can be individually controlled, and the CPU clock frequency is adjustable
from 80 MHz to 240 MHz. The chip also has a low-power coprocessor that can be used instead of the CPU to
save power while performing tasks that do not require much computing power, such as monitoring of
peripherals. ESP32 integrates a rich set of peripherals, ranging from capacitive touch sensors, Hall sensors, SD
card interface, Ethernet, high-speed SPI, UART, I2S and I2C.
The integration of Bluetooth®, Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi ensures that a wide range of applications can be targeted,
and that the module is all-around: using Wi-Fi allows a large physical range and direct connection to the Internet
through a Wi-Fi router, while using Bluetooth allows the user to conveniently connect to the phone or broadcast
low energy beacons for its detection. The sleep current of the ESP32 chip is less than 5 µA, making it suitable for
battery powered and wearable electronics applications. The module supports a data rate of up to 150 Mbps,
and 20 dBm output power at the antenna to ensure the widest physical range. As such the module does offer
industry-leading specifications and the best performance for electronic integration, range, power consumption,
and connectivity.
The operating system chosen for ESP32 is freeRTOS with LwIP; TLS 1.2 with hardware acceleration is built in as
well. Secure (encrypted) over the air (OTA) upgrade is also supported, so that users can upgrade their products
even after their release, at minimum cost and effort.

this is just what i was looking for thank you! I want to design my own pcb, i noticed the pcb ground pad had vias to the underside, does that side also have a large pad? is that essential for signal integrity/heat dissipation? also does the underside need to have a pad to make it possible to get the heatgun to transfer the heat through the pcb? or can i just have the ground pad on the top side only and heat from below still?

Great video, I've had problems soldering these !! You might find this useful - I put a large plated through hole where the heat sink area is on the chip bottom . I could then fill that with solder and connect to the board and chip. What flux paste are you using ?

How do you program esp32 wroom chip? Do you have headders on your main board or you program it using breakout board prior to fixing it?

As far as I can see he has one of the CP2102 UART to USB chips with which he can program the MCU through a standard USB cable.

Very Neat Soldering. I am getting pins shorted when using soldering iron to fix esp32 to board. Is it due to using normal soldering paste? Also please make a video which 3.3v regulator is best for ESP32 And why esp32 reboots when connecting Wi-Fi, powered by AMS1117, 3.3v regulator.

Ye ground pad solder krna required hai qa? What if i just solder the pins, the ground pad will be touched just not soldered. Will it work?

The ground pad serves several purposes: 1. it provides a large ground plane for the module, which helps to reduce noise and improve signal integrity. 2. it helps to dissipate heat from the module, which can be important when the module is operating at high temperatures. 3. the ground pad provides a convenient point for grounding the module and for connecting external components that require a common ground. Use flux and reflow the shorts , if bridge happens use solder wick to suck the extra solder and reflow again
