In this video I use the solo rules included in the core box to play through the Dragonbane RPG. I also share a little of my home-brew world, the Isle of Avelonia.
Thank you for actually playing the game and not just using it as a creative writing aid. Evade isn't a contested roll, so it wouldn't have been necessary to roll for the spider even if the halfling had succeeded. The Army of One ability says "when fighting alone", so I believe it's not meant to be used when fighting along side NPCs. Of course, you're your own GM, so dowatchuwant.
Thanks! Boxed set comes with an Oracle (which you could use to make GM decisions for solo play of any content), and also a special solo adventure randomizer(which is pretty cool). Could be played solo or co-op.
Lots of fun! I have Dragonbane but haven’t read through the rules yet. Is the DM screen a good investment for solo play? If so, I need to order one of those soon. Keep up the great content.
I think it is. The “Typical NPC” panel is great for generating enemies on the fly. It also has a good variety of different tables for Demons and mishaps and whatnot. Thanks for watching!
Hey Justin! My copy of Dragonbane arrived today. I also found your channel today. This video makes me feel even better about my purchase! Thanks for making this.
This was so much fun. Im glad i bought this game. Also, ive been trying to watch actual plays a lot and what ive learned is that solo actual plays are far superior to group plays. I really like the action more than all the chatting that happens in group plays.
Dean, I found that it played like a leaner version of Forbidden Lands with a d20 instead of dice pool. I think it invalidated Forbidden Lands for me (personal preference).
