I'm about 1710 in puzzles and hearing your evaluation of the levels of some of these puzzles make me feel better. Like I feel like total trash when I miss a puzzle that was hard and there were like "1250". I'm stuck at getting partial credit for some of these 1600-2000 puzzles but watching these at least makes me feel better so thank you
If youre doing these puzzle as well (time and right answers only) as Levy is then there is no reason you should only be a 1600... youre bsiting or you blunder in every game
The puzzle at 08:40 is right because if you check the king first he can move closer to the tower and capture your second rook, therefore you can't take the bishop because the pawn is pinned, that's why we force the queen back and just win material
@@vipcypr8368 yeah at that time i was about 1250, now I'm 1450 peak around 1500. my puzzles rating atm dropped to 2050 but a few days ago i reached 2300
I had an easy way to get a rating of 1700, a week later i had 1750 and now i'm heading towards 1900.. But the thing is, the average puzzles i solve are still rated 1600.. they're still puzzle rated between 1150 and 2050 which is insane Ps: and i usually loose to the easy one's with several minutes of thinking time.
I am pretty proud to be able to find a lot of these despite not even having a rating because playing chess with people sounds terrifying to me. but if I were to guess my online rating it'd probably be like 800-1000. like 3:43
Like if you found the 2:47 puzzle on your own. It took me a good minute or two to figure out.. tricky yes but doable with some thought. There isn’t much happening on the board so I find it a little easier to find the solution, and there’s only so many possible moves it could be. All it is is removing the defender of the defender of the trapped piece. Surprised to hear him say it should be 2000 rated, I think it has a proper rating.
Surely, as I barely play chess and I Also solve most of the puzzles. If you can't get into these positions to begin with or you've lost before that then probably the overall rating of play is lower.
Are you looking for puzzles ingame the same way as you try to solve the puzzles here? Or how do you apply puzzle knowledge into the game. I often miss the puzzles and if I analyze the game and see the eval bar shoot up i can find the puzzle, but its hard ingame.
Do the obvious moves and just think of what might happen afterward. Then look for different moves. "When you find a good move, look for a better one" -Emanuel Lasker
I not trying to be rude, but try to figure such things on ur own, sometimes u get it sometimes u don't. I say this because I use the engine a lot but I wouldn't learn cause I was too lazy to solve myself.
nice video but it would have been interesting, each time, that you really share your mind process to find the solution; even if it seems you see the solution in 1/2 sec, while i spend 5mins
Very confused as to how he castles at 9:58... Shouldn't it be impossible since black's queen is guarding B1? I've always been told that castling is illegal if one of the squares btwn the rook and the king is under attack.
16:30 This guy has to be the most arrogant chess player ever. This is his career that he has been learning probably since he was a teenager or at an even younger age, now he cannot fathom people that incorrectly solve these puzzles.
Yes, it is. The queen doesn't matter in that case. The same when they aim at your rook. They just can't aim at your king and 2 squares next to the king between rooks.
Yeah, dont beg for stuff...unless its likes, subscribers, merch sales, ad revenue, sponsors, online courses, pay to view videos, or to follow other puppets who beg for the same. Silly Billy.
Nah, he works with grown adults who are rated 400 and such, so he has to explain like this. He just wants to get the point across, which can be hard when you're good.
