First, I would like to say that I'm a big fan of your introductions to your videos. But I really appreciate the amount of material you go over, and how comprehensive it is. I look forward to seeing more of your future videos!
My family is always telling me I should be a pharmacist, however I think 61 might be too old to go back to school 😂, but they will be happy I found your RU-vid Channel!
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us. Days = day/24h x (6h x kg)/6mg x 400mg/5ml x 480ml/1 x 2 2lbs/kg x 1/54lbs = *_65,186_* *_"Cat from Brazil !!!"_*
Thank you Uchenna for watching and for the comment. In the question, the normalized dose is 6 mg/kg every 6 hours. However, we are interested in knowing how many milligrams of griseofulvin the child receives in one day. So we divide the 6 mg/kg by 6 hours and multiply the result by 24 hours/day. This gives the 24 mg/kg.day. Hope this helps.
Thank you Rasika for watching and for the question. The 6 weeks is not factored into the calculations since the question is asking for the number of days that the 480 mL bottle will last. However, since the bottle will last 65 days (approximately 9 weeks) it will be more than sufficient to cover the patients needs for 6 weeks. Hope this helps.
Thank you Camille for watching and for the comment. For pediatric dosing and chemotherapeutics or medications with narrow therapeutic ranges, dosing based on BSA is typically more accurate. Hope this helps.
