Are you seeing an F22 fault code in your Vaillant boiler?
In this video Tony Hernandez of Advanced Heating & Plumbing explains what to do when your Vaillant boiler stops working and is showing an F22 fault code.
F22 fault code is usually due to there being inadequate pressure in your boiler. It typically follows if you've been bleeding radiators or draining the system down to perhaps remove or replace a radiator.
The system should start working again when you repressurise and reset the boiler, so watch the video to see how that's done.

Thank you. I use your video as a reminder when the pressure drops! Happened today, and as I live alone, and I'm an 'oldie,' I always worry. I normally remember what I have to do, but it's always good to check. However, although I did get my hot water up and running, the valve on the right, which I usually turn on first, hardly moved at all. I am the only person who fixes my boiler, and I don't really have the strength to turn it off that tight! Anyway, I opened the other valve easily, and heard the water gush in, and saw the pressure going up. Turned the tap on, and there was hot water. Miracle! Obviously turned the left hand valve off, but the other valve, there was hardly any movement. I hope you get to see this comment, and will kindly answer. Thanking you.

Tony! You are a star! We had F.22 error going on all day. My wife called the housing association in the morning and the b******s said that from the 30th of March lack of hot water or heating is not considered "an emergency". After watching your video I fixed the boiler myself! Now let's hope the boiler won't blow up at night 🤣

Fab guidance, my pressure was really really low, im a woman lives on my own so i so much was grateful for that, my heating was actually off as a result & following this i got it back on again: the only thing i had a bit of a problem with was u didn't actually say what number the pressure should be on: i was happy it came on never the less, if any 1 has any idea what the pressure should be on please let me know, many thanks 😊

You've helped me out twice this week, Tony...with an F25 and then an F22. Second time was after a visit from a Vaillant engineer who was supposed to have fixed it. I suspect he didn't hang around long enough to check he'd fully pressurised the system. Hope I'm right! Thanks again.

Had an issue with my such boiler where the circuit board was replaced after we reported there being no hot water or heating, only for half a day later of hot water/heating being back to end up with this F22 code. I suspected there was something off with the 10 minute job the plumber/engineer guy did.

Our boiler looks the same but I don't see any dials underneath it, we also have a immersion heater upstairs and when we had this low pressure problem in the past an engineer from the boiler company installed a similar dials but instead of what you had in this video ours is a screw kind of dials. I have fixed this problem in the past many times but this time it's not doing anything when I allow water into the tank/boiler to get the pressure up. Any ideas why it's not working this time?

Great. Managed to find the valves after about 10 minutes, one had no finger twister bit on it. My question is if the boiler knows when it has low pressure, and the solution is to refill the pressure to within limits detectable by the boiler then why the hell is this not automated? Why can't the boiler automatically open a valve to repressurize it? This feels like as problem that home users should never need to have.

I'm a year late but... Motorised valves can stick and if they stick open you've got a problem. You can buy quarter turn ball valves and a separate motorised 'turner', which is more reliable but the motorised bit is still pretty new (and rare).

Folks mine has F22. Now it always has lost pressure over the year between annual service but engineers been out 3 times now and changed the pump, valves, heat exchangers etc it’s worked lovely for 3 weeks but all pressure gone and F22. British Gas say this keeps happening because there must be a blockage somewhere and only a power wash is going to solve our problem. Thoughts folks? It’s a 15 year old Vaillant combi always serviced annually and no issues until last few months. As I say at least 5 parts changed and been running much quieter than before sounded like a new boiler but it’s lost all its pressure in 3 weeks

I have this code come up on my newly fitted valiant boiler (2wks ago). The engineer has said there is a leak and will come out 2mor afternoon. Your demonstration seems so easy . Am I likely to have a leak?
