How to sound like Friedman. Lots to unpack. One thing he says it all the time in interviews when he talks guitar technique: any bending must follow the intended melody. Timing and pitch is central. In other word, if you can't replace your bending by normal fingering and picking to express the same phrase, you are doing it wrong. Bend and unbend from a specific pitch to a specific pitch at a specific timing. Or don't bend. He says something similar about vibrato: don't panic. relax. you can wait at a specific timing to start the vibrato. Be in control.
You should really use a metronome to practice it. Also this is YOUR version of the solo as it is pretty different from the original and sounds nothing like Friedman.
I mention in the video that I adjusted a few fingerings to what I, personally, prefer. The notes are all pretty much the same as his though, maybe one bend a little different. The point of the video is more the “concepts” he’s using and how to implement them in your playing and what the ideas are. I invite you to do a more accurate take though!
@@QuinnParsley Yeah but the title of your video is not what you say here you literally say "How To Sound Like Marty Friedman". The fact that you change the links, that you change fingering and positions, and play out of time contract the title of your video making it a clickbait video. Practice and do not make click bait videos.
@@RicardoBuquet I mean, considering this is your version of the same solo…. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TbD_3C2CDCg.htmlsi=vuh7jUr43-J9bneb
You definitely could have used a bit more practice before posting that one. Anyway, go work on your own practicing a bit and do your own, better version of the solo.
