I was waiting for these two expressions: 1- Subhan Allah - سبحان الله - Glory be to Allah It is used when you fascinated by the greatness or splendor of something 2- Ma Sha Allah - ما شاء الله - God bless It is used to when you have been told or seen something excellent so you wish him the best

There is an Egyptian expression that's a cousin of "ya lahwi", "ya 7alolli", which means the same thing and is used in the same context as ya lawhi

There’s also Yumma, which I think means mom, at least for the previous generation. But most of my generation mostly use it for surprise, usually when something scares you. I don’t know what dialects use it. I know it’s either Jordanian or Palestinian

We are very expressive people and we use words in its actual meaning or in very very sarcastic way. Yet we can make a whole sentence /conversation with one word+specific tone and facial expression .. Mind puzzling ppl Arab Ay.

Along with “ya allah”, we also say “ya lail” (oh night) here in Saudi, witch generally carries the same meaning as “ya allah”
