I’m 33 seconds in watching this video and seeing Gaku for the first time ever and can I just say thank you for having a desk space that doesn’t look the exact same as everyone else in every other video… you know the look I mean right? Anyway this is very pleasing to see so thanks 🙏🏼
but in what fps is the footage so you speed ramp 2000-3000? 60 fps? cause if you shoot 24..i assume speed ramp will have to be around 1000 then in order to look the same?
question: when adding rsmb pro to adjustment layer it turns the footage from the sequences color space rec 709 from log and turns it back to log on the part under the adjustment layer. I can't seem to figure out how to keep the color consistent with the effect applied. Any response is much appreciated! $180 later haha
How do people find time to do these (coming from a 9-5 guy) it already takes so much time color grading yet alone speed ramping 😢 not me thinking these fire edits on IG is from people with no jobs and have all the time in the world.
Fun to see how popular speed ramp edit has become after D2shots popularized it on tiktok/reels. Especially after growing up with it, literally, been watching and making speed ramp edit throughout my entire teen years for gaming (although my own edits are so cringe now that i grew older, lol).
I just want to say you're my inspiration to these types of videos, now I know what path I needed to take. Wanted to focus myself more on speed ramping too. Looks sick legend!
Hola desde La Pampa Argentina! Cuál MacBook utilizas para estos proyectos? Me ayudarías mucho a elegir mi próxima inversión. Te deseo mucho éxito! Saludos!
@Gaku, What's the solution when the speed points disappear because the curve is too tall to fit vertically withing the retiming window? If I set my ramp to (let's say) 800%...then I increase it to 1200%, odds are the the speed points sit too high in the window to be able to select and change them from the hard ramp to the curved bezier... I hope this explanation makes sense. I cannot find a work around for this! Any thoughts?
Hi, What is a good Fstop to do this? How wide are you shooting, is this a 24mm? I guess you are using autofocus, I own a panasonic camera, with OK autofocus, but maybe not on par with Canon/sony. thanks a lot!
I tried shooting some videos and i tried to stabilize the motion in after effects and the videos are still shaky and they look terrible. I need help stabilizing....any tutorials on stabilizing?
I'm late to this video...but only because my dumb ass wasn't subbed ;) This is the year of great edits, I'm convinced. Literally in every market and medium, I'm just seeing so much creativity! Thing is, it is 98% because of folks like yourself who take the time to not only share their creative work but also the insights and inspiration and hacks on how they made things! I commend you for your creativity and your willingness to support other creatives with a desire to express themselves in new and interesting ways! Hats off to you and thanks for the video! I won't miss any more!
9:05 another tip for adding motion blur if you're scaling, re-positioning or rotating the image is to use the transform effect to boost your shutter angle which creates a slight blur effect - haven't tried this for in-camera motion yet though
