its my third time following your instructions and clean up my laptop, today I even cleaned up the dust from the fan inside the PC I expect it to run super fast now... thanks
I’ve had my HP with Windows 8 for 4+ years and it’s been slowing down for a while. Watched this video and made the recommended changes, and I’m telling you...it’s like I have a new laptop! Thanks so much. Highly recommend this.
I remember finding a video a while back on how to do the defrag and optimize parts that greatly helped me before. I forgot and been looking for a video that showed how to do it again for a while now until now. Short, easy and quick to the point. Thanks!
Your such a lifesaver, thanks so much for posting a video that’s user friendly. Good computer tutorials are hard to find, you knocked this one outta the park man. 👐🏼
Hi can you please make a video how to see my expirience index on windows 8.1 plizzz and how to make all windows to bee as windows 7 if its posible cuz i heate when its just in some collor but task baar is with glass :) PS sory for my bad english i'm from Latvia :)
Wow good video without 2 minutes of telling us what the video is about (that's why there's a title), stupid music, or a 30 second branding intro. You talked fast and to the point without telling us unrelated personal things we don't care about. The standard by which all videos should be done as.
Wow! Step by step i followed your video intructions. Thank you it sped up my pc and removed all the gunk from pc. thanks. yess its like my pc is new again. Also my touch screen works again after i followed your intructions. Woop Woop. Sooo easy too follow.
Thanks man I dont have any friends that can ever helped me I learned everything I know on my own , I still dont know it all but its good to have someone like you to help out. Thanks for the video
Great tutorial, step by step perfectly explained. I always come to Your Tutorial every time my computer starts running slow and freezing up. It improves the performance of my laptop for Free. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you for making this video! I My hp laptop was really slow but you showed me how to fix that problem slightly:)At leas you tried. Btw I liked your vid
THE BEST I have ever seen! To speed up the computer! Easy to follow and understand. I paused the screen and went back and forth, doing each step. Thank you!
Thanks a lot man! The steps were all easy to follow and equally effective. My PC is a lot faster than it ever was! And to those asking if it's okay to delete all the files in %temp%, don't worry guys. It is absolutely okay as they are temporary files and will automatically be deleted sooner or later.
Few tips for you Rasim: 1. Don't clear prefetch. It does nothing to speed up your computer. Instead, it does the opposite. It's not a big issue, but it is better not to. 2. If you are going to use Disk Cleanup anyway, why delete the temporary files manually? The disk cleanup program does it for you. 3. In one instruction, you did not say anything about removing services. You just checked "Hide all Microsoft services". You should also disable non-Microsoft services. 4. In the Run dialog box, you don't have to delete the text there. You can just start typing and the deleting will be done for you.
Exactly what I was thinking. But then again - this video is directed towards the everyday dumb-user who doesn't have the ability to think or read 99% of the time. TBH I was more hoping on a list of Services/reg edit fixes that disable hidden telemetry sending, improve RAM usage etc.
"as the theory goes, periodically clearing out the data in this folder (say, once a month) will improve performance." Source : helpdeskgeek.com/help-desk/delete-disable-windows-prefetch/ It's good to do it periodically , but not like every day...
***** its the temporary files stored in your PC, its something like a recycle bin. So its basically useless files that you don't need and have deleted before.
No, he didn't, he checked the box that said "Hide all Microsoft services" so you feel free to check and uncheck each process that you need or do not need without touching Microsoft services.
RapShort4me guys can go facebook.com/pages/Windows-10-Product-Key/1605397346397123 to got windows 10 product key. the key is genuine and works great after i used to share you.
Yeah...I'm glad Microsoft didn't take that & other hot keys away like what they did with Windows 8 lol but still "Windows button + Tab" gone with Windows 7 Aero :(
@@SheIsLove741 this is really individual and mainly based on your PC. The faster your Hard drive, the faster the cleanup. Since the computer I was doing this on wad literally walking crap then it took a while. If I remember correctly it was about hour or two. But as mentioned, it really depends on your HDD speed and also on the HDD usage, for example if you have two 500 Gb HDDs and one of them has 200 Gb left and the other one has 100 Gb left, then the 200 Gb left HDD will take slightly less time to clean.
Thank you very much, it was really easy to follow and straight to the point. I feel like a computer gig after fixing my windows problems. Subscribing immediately!
YoloQ Master everything's safe I did everything in this video I haven't lost any files or applications (other than the ones I deleated) don't go looking through the files or you'll just get even more nervous
because it's windows 8.1... LOL and if your using 8.1 now, try to install some updates in windows update :)) and if not try to download "Start Menu 8" from iobit, dont worry it's free :))))))
not really lol as if you put the (lol) into real life i would say the first line "this not speeding it up for free" then I would laugh out loud then i would say "as your using more power" then would laugh out loud again simple
guys don't delete prefetch it will make your programs open slow the next time u turn on your computer if u don't trust me go on google type in prefetch and read the first sentence, i work for Microsoft as an engineer, you should visit there site and ask for help since there the professional's.
Musaka sadi If you are going to inform us about something, please fix your grammar and spelling. Those run off sentences are making it difficult to understand what you are saying.
he's right, but missings some things to this -------------------------------- please read -------------------------------- Each time you turn on your computer, Windows keeps track of the way your computer starts and which programs you commonly open. Windows saves this information as a number of small files in the prefetch folder. The next time you turn on your computer, Windows refers to these files to help speed the start process. The prefetch folder is a subfolder of the Windows system folder. The prefetch folder is self-maintaining, and there's no need to delete it or empty its contents. If you empty the folder, Windows and your programs will take longer to open the next time you turn on your computer. Dangerous myths: Deleting the informaation in Prefetch folder ============================================================= There are often claims that deleting the Prefetch folder actually results in less boot-up time and more free memory. The reasons for this vary-for example, some experts claim that Windows loads Prefetch information for all of the programs you’ve ever started on your computer into memory automatically, filling your RAM with unused data (this is not true.) These experts recommend deleting the contents of “Windows\Prefetch” on a regular basis, to keep your memory free from unused data. Ouch! Two reasons: 1. If you don’t run a program, Windows does not access the Prefetch information. 2. Windows maintains a maximum of 128 entries in the Prefetch folder. It cleans itself automatically. So, if you actually delete the Prefetch folder, here’s what you should really expect to happen: Windows and applications will need noticeably more time to start, as the Prefetch data needs to be collected again. The entire performance of your system will slow down
Sigh . . . Why are you telling people to clear their prefetch folder. Folder is needed to speed up frequently used programs. You really shouldn't be messing with that folder, as the system has to once again learn what programs you use often to preload. Deleting these is a 'phantom tweak' that doesn't actually help.
TabloidClown Again, what you are saying is completely false. Please refer to this document: windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/what-is-the-prefetch-folder. In my professiional experience, generally messing with this folder has the opposite effect of undoing the optimization the operating system has spent the time to complete. Windows knows when to keep and when to throw away data in that folder. There is a lot of "junk" and "Phantom" tweaks going around that people do, but have absolutely NO value.
***** Although this link notes Vista, Information about Prefetch in this link applies to all versions of windows since Windows XP, including windows 8/8.1
DO NOT DEFRAG SSD!!!!! If you have an SSD do not defrag it. It will kill it faster and since it has no moving parts will not help performance in any way at all.
Trim should function in the background on it's own. This has nothing to do with defrag. When I first started Win8, it was schedualling a defrag of my SSD on a weekly basis. Did not realize till I had seen the writes where going up really fast after a couple months. After checking lots of things, I checked defrag settings. Sure enough it was defragging my SSD and my HDDs. Turned it off, write cycle counts have hardly gone up in the almost a year since. So, Win8 is not perfect at detecting this stuff. Samsung 840 Pro 256GB before you ask.
Yekizlon SSDs are cheap these days. You can get little 120GB drives for under $100 and 256 GB drives for just over $100. Both are good options for boot drives. Then use spinners for mass storage where speed is not a huge advantage.
I have to say my Friend your one smart son of a Batch. Without people like you showing us how to do anything computer wise we would be lost. Thanyou for your hard work on figuring stuff out that most of us dont want to do.
