HOW TO SPEND A DAY IN COSTA MAYA: MSC MERAVIGLIA takes us on a wonderful MSC cruise excursion to THE LAGOON OF SEVEN COLORS, BACALAR. Costa Maya is located on the southeastern coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Cruise ships (RCCL, Carnival, Celebrity, MSC) all dock here. This is an up and coming destination that is surrounded by dense jungles, Mayan Ruins and natural wonders. The lagoon has limitless beauty of seven colors of blue. It is amazing and worth the drive in to the town of Bacalar. We decided to take the boat tour that stops at cenotes for a short swim and this also included lunch. The MSC MERAVIGILA arranged the bus, the tour, the lunch and the boat ride. It was great to see what the surrounding area looked like.
If you walk from the ship to the pier, you will find a man-made village, with a touristy and commercialized feel of Mexico. It has shops with leather, curios, tequilla,mexican artifacts and a drugstore. You'll also find a restaurant, bar, pool, beach club and dolphins. It's all there for your pleasure, however, if you would like to see the real towns in the area, I would venture further that the port! This was an awesome adventure! Thanks for watching!

MSC Costs Maya to 7 Lagoons is amazing... it's where cenotes meet the sea! The waters are a Mecca for many especially for paddle boarders and kayakers. It is away from civilization and is worth a few days relaxing visit and the Costa Port shopping is first class. I must return!

The weather was perfect in early December. You can also do tubing down an estuary which would be great fun too! 🚣‍♂️🌴☀️⛱

Thank you for showing. I'm looking at MSC too. Did you book 2 tours that why they shown you around the town a bit before taking you to the lagoon?

Thanks for watching! You walk to a cruise port area that has a lot of shops etc. you board a bus there. That is walking distance to the ship. So you can look around after the tour on your own. You are walked to the bus from the ship, so you stay together until it’s finished. I really liked it. I wish we stayed longer!😊🚢☀️🌴

Thank you for posting this excursion, I am definitely going to look it up. My cruise is in December and we were wanting to include at lease one sightseeing excursion, this one may be it. Were you able to get off the boat and jump into the shallow water? $129 for two people? Thank you

Thanks for watching. They did let us off at one shallow area and you could be in the water for a bit. I don’t remember the cost exactly. It is a long drive and there is lunch so it may be $129 per person. I honestly don’t remember. It was a good tour and shows you a whole different area of Costa Maya. ☀️🌴

Thanks for watching! I really should have written that down. I think around $129. Check under the excursions for Costa Maya and it should be there. The shore excursion desk is right by the guest relations. They have computers set up for you to look through excursions too. There were about 25 people on our tour. I really loved the area!

It was Mediterranean style mainly. Lots of fish and chicken and it was good enough. I can say the buffet doesn’t have a lot of food selections but it’s adequate and you can ask for things. It was hot and delivered promptly and that’s a big thing! There isn’t a big red meat selection unless you pay for it. The specialty restaurants are nice. Other lines provide more variety, but I enjoyed it.
