As a Beginner this has the clearest video I've encountered . TY so much. I was given a new bait casting reel and to celebrate I'm going to buy a new rod tomorrow that is called a KastKing. Dont know what weight yet but I am thinking Medium. As a really short person I don't know if it makes any difference in how long the rod is. I am used to ultralight tackle for fishing for trout in brooks in NH. Fl . bass ought to be a eyeopener for sure.
Yes, I always tie my braided line straight to the reel through the holes on the spool. Always. Get a good tight knot that I never have to worry about snapping.
Thanks alot I am trying braid for the first time and this was helpful 😊.. 1 question about the backing..if I tie the braid into the spool I don't have to do that right?
I have used the holes in the reel before and never had a problem with braid, now I spooled the stealth reel up today with kastking fluorocarbon 12lb and tried to use the holes and what happened was it cut my line, the holes are to sharp so I just put it on like you did in the video, there is another video on RU-vid that shows how to put braid on without backing and it doesn't slip, I put it on both of my lews reels and have no slippage.
Thank you, very helpful video!! Manage to put the braid on the same reel and I have to say looks great. A lot of to learn a head of me with my first casting setup.
Yes correct except: do NOT go hole to hole threading the line on, It may cut. Go through the holes and then pass the tag end around the waist of the spool and them make your knot away from the holes so the line is not bent over the sharp edge of the hole inside the spool. Kapish?
I just started learning to fish using baitcaster. Recently bought a Brutus Baitcasting. Need some advice here, while pulling drag, the line guide should be moving back n forth. Correct?
What’s backing? Also what’s the purpose of having a main line and the secondary line to hold it to the spool? I just bought my first baitcaster. It’s coming but doing research before I use it.
For those of us with big fingers, its easier to take the line, pass it through the guide and then take your spool out, pass the line through the side of the reel and tie it to the spool while its outside the reel body. I use the holes in the spool instead of going around the spool. Once the knot it tight, put the spool back in and crank the line on tight as usual.
Hello! I have a question: the holes in the spool, can we directly make a knot on them? Or are they here just to make easier the fact to turn the « wire » around the spool?
When I loaded my spool with a braided line thru the holes, the line broke when I tightened the arbor knot. I feel that the holes are sharp on the inside of the spool. I have always used a small piece of electricians tape folded of fastened to itself to make a ring. I then place this piece of tape on the center of the spool. The line will never, and I mean never, slip on the spool.
ive seen some guys say to use a lube type solution on a towel then as you reel in the line is dragged through this towel. the benefit they say is a smoother cast and it removes factory residue. comments? what about the warm water trick? thx!
Uneven spooling on my speed demon. Right side higher than left side. Any tips?other baitcaster from kastking works fine when spooling. Just speed demon.
Hi l wanted to put a 3,5kg braid line on my baitcaster which is only 0,6 l would first put a backing on but now l have been told that the 0,6 braid is too thin and no good for the baitcaster? What do you think, thanks
Why do you have a backing and a main line? Does everyone do this with baitcasters or just you? This just seems unnecessary. Can't I just spool 10lb braid and be done with it? No leader just straight braid?
What the hell happened at 4:47 to 4:48? It's like you cut out a frame or two of the video - right when I was closely watching you tight the knot! Because of those missing frames, I'm not sure which way the twisting of your line went! I'll just quit at look at someone else's video. Damn!
