Hi Chika... My apologies for the late response. There are definitely very well made fakes on the market, but buying counterfeits have additional repercussions as the counterfeit industry affects close 750,000 jobs in the US and something like 2billion dollars in taxes. The real items can be very expensive, but they last forever and the craftsmanship is like nothing else. Buying second hand is always a great way to buy the real thing for less. Its always important to know the dealer that you buy from.

girl please, that fake you have is simply a bad example. I know people in north of France who make replicas using real Hermes material and are using same techniques , you will not find a flaw. of course you will pay the price but still it will never compare to the price Maison Hermes charges y you.

It is a very bad fake, you are correct. In order for us to highlight the differences we used a bag that showed them in extreme. The fact is that buying fakes, whether they are super fakes and superb or knock offs, the society and environment take a toll and it is an illegal act to sell counterfeits. Knowing what to look for and who you buy from are the two best ways to arm yourselves against counterfeiters.

@@Michaelsconsignment no matter how good craftsmanship is in those birkin bags, it will never justify the price they charge. You gotta understand the super high margin they can charge is due to playing on the psychology of sheeples by using a strategy called “artificial” scarcity which drives up the price for no good reason, and it works. It’s just a bag after all, no way can it actually be worth the same amount as a brand new car or a real estate property which is actually the price of Birkins. So no it does not take a toll on the society and environment, in fact it actually helps the society by not making the already super rich even richer, driving further apart the inequality gap. Take a look at the net worth of the chairman of Hermes, billions.

Do you find it too wide/big and bulky? I’ve just bought the *gtdupe* which is basically the same width and my only worry is it bumping into things and wear on the corners, has yours scuffed?

Purchasing expensive clothing and bags is a waste of money. It all about the entire persona. If a person that works in Macdonald and has a beat up Honda is seen with a Birkin bag that cost $ 50,000, people think it is a fake even if it may be a genuine. This is because it does not match up with her entire persona and does not make sense. I have a relative that is well off, has her own business, drives a Porsche Panamera and reside in a luxury gated community were houses are worth over one million dollars. She has fake very high end luxury clothes and bags that are one to one copies with the same material like original with a fraction of the original. Since her entire persona matches with the luxury items and therefore on one would even think what she has is fake. She is able to have the same feeling and is given the nod of having expensive items as she fits the narrative.

LIFE STYLE I hear what you are saying. And you make an interesting point. But the truth is, whether you fit the persona or not, we are dead set against support of counterfeits. The social and economical repercussions are so much greater than just looking the part. Yes, the high-end luxury label being copied is affected... and they've worked very hard to establish their brands, but our bigger focus is on the illegal activity around the use of fakes. Most counterfeiting circles are doing more damage than just making luxury bags. At the very least, they are bypassing paying proper taxes... and at the very worst, they are exploiting workers and funding other crime rings. We just believe there is no place for fakes... no matter how good they are or whether your lifestyle supports the look.

The truth is that buying counterfeit merchandise supports the criminals that create the merchandise. It always makes sense to buy the real product. Aside from the craftsmanship being better, if you buy the real item, you know that everyone involved in its production is working in safe conditions and within the law. The counterfeit industry costs governments hundreds of thousands of jobs and money every year.

Tracye Moore People like Oprah with so much deposable income, its OK.But women that spend a fortune of this bags and don't have a lot of money for bags that have nuance difference from high-end copies is ridiculous. There were two Hermes bags, one original and one high-end copy that Vogue were asked to which was original and they did were not able to make the difference. If fashion magazine people can make a different why waste money on something that is quite difficult to know the difference. I know wealthy people that buy high end, from the SAME people that make original, they pay a fraction of course they are wise not to spend so much on one bag, instead on one they can buy ten and with their entire persona, there job, the car they drive, the resident they reside, no one would doubt they don't have original product.

I from LYXBAG bought a Birkin and I went into Louis Vuitton at South Coast Plaza with a friend who wanted to buy a card case and we received great customer service. They offered us water..LOL I would never buy authentic knowing that are just as good.

I'm sorry, but I don't. And I agree with you. Having done this for all the years that we have done it, I do not understand how a bag can be fully authenticated with only pictures. With that said, there are a few identifiers that can be seen via images that will indicate if a bag is not authentic. This is why it is so important to buy from a reputable business that has the ability to have quality control with their product.

Yes the color of the D U P B A G Y is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…

Fake or real, is it still classy wearing a bag that is so well known for it's price? If I see a woman with that bag I'd rather consider her a high end call girl than anything else. (And if she's not obviously Oprah Winfrey)

I hear you. The fakes can look and feel really good and they do cost less. But my issue is with the fake industry. Counterfeits cost the world billions of dollars and tons of jobs. There are social repercussions as well. Buying a counterfeit item helps fund criminals that are often involved in a whole slew of illegal activities like terrorism, sex trafficking, child labor. Often if someone is producing a counterfeit bag, they are producing all sorts of bogus goods. Pharmaceuticals, for example, have been knows to be imitated and sold as the real deal. I think a much better option is to find a gently used bag and save some money that way.

How to spot a fake Kelly? How about who cares?! Hermes designs a bag that for most westerners would cost two years' salary, then dangles the cute little thing in every factory girl's face like "ha-ha-YOU'LL-never-have-me," they DESERVE to be ripped off! Anywhere top-notch copies are sold all you have to do is read the customer reviews and you'll quickly learn who's selling the quality LEATHER look-alikes and who should be shunned. I just got the sweetest apple green pebble leather "Kelly" and I can't stop looking at it, it's so lively and beautifully done. The fact that it's a knockoff is beside the point. And at roughly $110 I have no regrets. In fact, I've already remarked to the manufacturer I would love to see what THEY'RE designing. If it's quality and I like it, I'm in. And the quality of my new bag is THAT impressive. It blows my mind that lions, tigers, and other exotic animals are being culled from the wild and dragged here to live out tragic lives in cramped cages in "roadside zoos" but what has law enforcement all aghast are knockoff handbags. I have to stop and roll my eyes now...

Unfortunately buying counterfeit items is not just about saving money on that item. Selling counterfeits is illegal in the United States. That illegal activity costs the US upwards of 750,000 jobs and billions of dollars in taxes. The sustainability of selling and busying items second hand can reduce the cost of the item considerably and also helps to make sure items are recycled to a new owner. But it is important to vet the second hand dealer well before buying. Some thing to look for is if they have years of experience in authentication and positive reviews. I also personally believe it is important that they have both brick and mortar sites as well as online representation. That way, if you have any questions, you can call the company directly.

@@Michaelsconsignment I read recently that an Hermes Birkin bag costs roughly $800 to produce, including materials and all that hand sewing. So, pardon me if I remain unmoved by your impassioned argument regarding jobs, particularly when those who sew well are rarer than hens teeth in most of the world. When Birkin's (An ugly bag, imo... I prefer the cleaner lines of the fake Kelly's) allegedly cost Hermes $800 to make and sell for beteen $60,000 - $200,000 that means Hermes nets a profit of between $59,200 - $199,200 per bag, retail. Maybe, instead of jumping on me (lamest guilt trip, ever, btw. My 3,000 square foot house costs under 60K and is growing in value) you should direct your concerns to Hermes about where all that fabulous money is going. Pretty sure they're not spending it helping the unemployed. LOL. We're never going to agree on this so there's really no point.

Your fake bag looks so fake, I can tell right away. Can you find a really good one to talk about it ? How do you measure the bag ? If you measure the bottom in the middle without the edge , the 30 Birmingham only measures 29 or 29.5 ?

We use fakes that will help us show the identifiers in extreme. The super fakes are really good and can be more difficult to show the identifiers particularly on video. And regarding measuring the bag, it is easiest if you use a soft body measuring tape from end to end on the bag.

You are lucky that your thrift store has such great prices. Be all of my local thrift stores price everything as if you are shopping at Neiman Marcus. Even if the *gtdupe* are not real name brand. That's one reason why I don't go thrifting anymore. Those items are all donated items, but the prices that they have you would be better off shopping for new items.
