the bubbling is correct if its fake cause with authentic jerseys they heat press the logo first then they sew it on. the non authentic ones they sew first then heat press the logo
Another telltale sign on the Yellow Lemieux jersey is that it shouldn't have the C on it (he only wore it during the preseason as a rookie so factory custos don't have it) and the logo is not correct (the real ones have the meaner looking Penguin). Its the same for the white and blue 70s Penguins jerseys CCM made in that line, the easiest way to spot a fake is they have the current version of the logo and not the correct mean Penguins. Also on the Adidas WCH jerseys they are sized traditionally S,M,L etc. and considered replicas, whereas now all Adidas are considered "Authentic" and replicas are fanatics. There are definitely differences in quality between the WCH jerseys and the current Adidas.
Yes you are correct. The only thing about the customization though is sometimes people will put players (or "C"s/"A"s) on jerseys they never wore but the jersey itself is still legit. For example I've seen Matthews jerseys with the older Leafs logo on legit jerseys, but obviously he never wore that jersey. So I usually don't automatically rule out those jerseys on being fakes. Another thing I should have mentioned as well is that with most penguin fakes, the stick is angled upwards where it should be straight. But thank you for the comment.
Need helping tracking down the history on a Yellow Florida Panthers jersey by Starter. It feels phenomenal and I would even cop a second one just to keep as collectible but I can’t find any info on where and when it came from, if someone would like to help ✌🏾
Sounds like it could be a Starter fashion jersey. Florida never had yellow jerseys that were worn on ice, but Starter made quite a few fashion jerseys where they used different colours.
It’s getting more difficult as time goes on. The first problem is the misuse and/or abuse of the term “Authentic” when referring to a Pro-spec jersey. The confusion between Authentic and Genuine is real. The other traits I see in faked (non genuine) jerseys are poor/uneven stitching, incorrect piping around inside neck collar and, of course, player name & number for a jersey where that player simply doesn’t belong. Incorrect team crest, believe it or not, is also being perpetrated. Always use professional photos of actual players in their jerseys for the correct year or period for sake of comparison with a jersey you are looking to buy.
I do have a video on where to get jerseys, although I need to update it as its a few years old. If you watch that old video, I should say that I don't recommend buying from Cool Hockey anymore. The rest of the sites in that video are still good though.
Is anyone aware if the Fanatics jerseys are faked? I realize they are just a fan jersey and are not authentic, but I just bought an Ovechkin away on eBay and paid a very low price for it, so I'm wondering how I can tell if it's a real Fanatics or a knockoff. Thanks !!
I personally haven't seen a Fanatics faked. But if you want, I could take a look at it. Just DM me on Instagram or Twitter with a link or some pictures.
I personally have very little experience with Nike jerseys. I'd probably take a look at the main signs of a fake jerseys, such as bubbly logo, drop stitching, square fight strap
I tried checking in the monthly threa, but the link seems not to be working I did the questionnaire, and it's seems the CCM is legit, but one person told me it's a knock off. I wish you could give me your opinion.
Hey man! I’m in australia and i’ve recently bought a jersey off of grailed. Advertised as a legit Adidas Bruins training jersey. any knowledge on how to see if it’s a fake or not??
The 2 easiest ways to tell is if the crest is bubbly and if the fight strap looks more like a square than a rectangle. If you still aren't sure I could take a look at it if you send me a message on twitter or instagram.
I've bought like 90% of my jerseys through eBay. As long as you know how to spot fakes and the general prices for the jerseys its one of the better spots to look
@@TheJerseyZone: If you know legit sellers like Ben H. etc., you’re good to go. It’s when you branch outside of those regulars that you run a higher risk of fakes.
They definitely are if you are buying new, but if you wait for deals and know where you look, they are just as expensive as the fakes. I've bought a lot of jerseys for around $40 or so. Even with new Adidas jerseys they can go for super cheap, an example being Laine Jets jerseys going on sale after he was traded for like $35CAD, there was Domi Canadiens jerseys on tricoloresports (canadiens team store) for $42CAD the other day. It's all about patience and waiting for deals, which can be frustrating if you want a brand new jersey that was just released. But for me I'd much rather wait then get a product that, to me, doesn't look anywhere near as good as the real thing.
